My Son Was On The Front Page Of The Paper!!

My husband called me yesterday to tell me our son Parker was in the paper..on the front page. There was an article about the first day of school and all day kindergarten. They are the first kindergarten class to go all day! It just so happened to be a picture of my sons class getting a tour of the school. Yeah!! I will cut that out and save it. I eneded up with like 5 papers!! Someone told me now you can be happy hes in the paper but in 10 years it wont be a good thing!! LOL I was like I know right now I cut it out and hang it on the fridge but if hes ever in the paper for something bad I think I would buy them all and burn them so no one would know!!! LOL LOL. Has your child/parent/friend/you ever been in the paper? And for what?{he is the 4th child back in the pic}

well my tiwns that are 26 months old were in the newspaper last year for halloween.they were mickey mouse and minnie mouse and we entered them in a contest in my town,and the local newspaper was there and they were in the newspaper.they won first place for best couple outfit.it was the cutest thing,and i was so proud.i had a newspaper for everyone in the family,and then i put it away in their album,so i can look back on it a few years down the road.thats so great of your son too,it makes us so proud and honored.

Oh there soooo cute!! If the costumes fit let them were them. Then they will be cute this year to! LOL My son was spiderman too!! He loves him! My other son was Mr. Incredable. They were so cute!!

thanks,it was cute that this year they want to be it again,and the costumes still fit.because they really didnt get to go trick or treating much so not many people seen them in their costumes,so i think i might make them mickey,and minnie again,and my other son was spiderman last year and he is so obbessed with spiderman that he wants to be him again.

That is so cool and I bet your son is just thrilled. My kids have been in the papers now and then, mostly for school activities. I saved the articles and put them in a memory book for them along with pictures and other things. They love looking back on it. :-)

He was very happy!! I have saved everything he did in headstart and put in a scrap book. I will do that for each year and for both kids. Then later in life they can look back and have good memories!

That is really cool that he got into the paper. Congrautulations, and good for Parker. I don't have kids, but I have been in the paper a few times for various GOOD things, including the publication of my cookbook.

Yo must have been very proud of him. It's really cool to be on papers especially if the news is a nice one. You really need to save a copy so that when he grows up he can see it and enjoy reminiscing the old times.

I was proud! I am putting a copy in his scrap book. Then like you said he can see it when hes older, his first day of Kindergarten!

i can guess how exciting you were when you read the newspaper and saw the picture. i did remember when i was in my high school.one of my destmates pointed out her sister to me on the newspaper. her sister was dancing at a ceremony of her school. we were happy for her.
i only read the paragraphs written by my sister.

Hah ha, good for your kid Copper!
I've been mentioned in the paper for helping out with projects and what not, but alas no pictures. Mom and Dad had an entire section for them when they did a February special on romance. Lucky. .

aw thats so cool your son in the paper, my parents have made it in the paper a few times for different things (all good lol) and they cut them out and put them ina photo album sometimes put them on the fridge first. i bet he was happy to be in the newspaper

That is so exciting! I would have done the same thing, bought a whole lot of papers. I was in the paper last year complete with a horrible picture the photographer snapped. It was a story on a thing I was doing to raise money for the Jesus House shelter. Wasn't front page though!
He's going to be a star around his school. : )

THat is great...you may want to look into a way to preserve since the longevity of newspaper is not much. Or contact the newspaper, they may be able to give you an actual print.
Yes, my son was in the paper, he won some kind of cute kid contest at a mall. He won an Easter egg, which the paper said had a gift certificate and other prizes in it, when in reality, it had about 10 jelly beans it.
My son was a cute kid, the contest we knew nothing about, they were just taking random pictures at the mall and somehow he came out as cutest. Now, he is a moose - you never know.

wow! that is so nice! i would be thrilled too if i saw someone i love, especially my kid, in the newspaper or some other media like magazines or tv. how could it be a bad thing? if you save them all it'll give you good memories in the future. looking back at it would be like reminiscing how you got excited. ^__^;; congratulations!

That's great!! My two youngest Brothers were in the paper as little kids when they built an igloo for the family dog and called it something like Puppy Hotel. It was really cute.
My oldest brother was in the paper when he sunk his car in the Michigan River while drunk and doing doughnuts in a parking lot. LOL

No i dont really want people to know where he goes. It was just to show the article and him. He was happy. He says "mom..Thats me?..How did I get in there?? LOL
