I had a cat when I was younger named Pumpkin, she was probably 10 or 11 and she got cat pneumonia and passed away at the vet's office. We buried her under a tree at my parents house and I use to take her wildflowers and talk to her. I am really attached to the fur babies that I have now. I would be completely devistated if something happened to either one of them. They are like my children.

Many people don't live in a house where they have a garden where they can burry their pets. There already do exist "pet cemetery" on some places but.. well.. it's also a money thing isn't it?

I suppose it is. Now if something happened to my kitties, I think I would have them cremated and put in an urn.

Since I was young, I had a lot of cats. The one that I was the most attached to was Grisou. I had him for 5 years. One day, he never came back. My dad told me that he was kinda getting sick and that the cat decide not to show me that he was dying. I cried so many night. After 1-2month I decide to start saving money for another cat. Finaly, for Christmas, my parent bought me a cat. it was he best gift I ever receive. But the cat was so far of what Grisou was. Right now I have cats who are all my litle babies. The oldest is 8 years old and I know that I'M gonna cry when I'M gonna loose them. Hope it will be because they are too old :)

Another sad thing is... you know you will be sad when you'll loose a "living thing" (as I already said, I call almost everything which breath "living thing" so don't get me wrong..) but we try not to think of it. I also grew up with cats (and 2 dogs) and it was never easy to loose one of them. No matter if it was because of a disease or because they didn't come back and I had no idea why.. To be honest, it was more easy when it was the "he/she did not come home" because I always thought "he/she could still be out there... doing this doing that.." you know? But in my opinion that's also a point people are very different... some may have a kind of "breakdown" if that happens, some start to believe that they still are alive and have a happy life..

40 years back my father brought a cat and its generations are continuing even today, though my mother did not like the idea. All their children liked it, but no one wanted to take the kitten when they were plenty here. Once a cat got caught under a two wheeler and was injured. My father took to animal hospital for nearly 15 days, but it breathed its last. He buried with all respect like people bury humans. He was silent for a month or so. Again he was happy another cat came and started feeding it. My parents are no more and I have occuped the house. Presently there are 8 cats (4 kittens included). The smell is unbearable and since it is raining, they are indoors all the time. My wife is angry. She left 3 of them at a park and next morning they are back. Now plants to take it some 15 kms away and leave it there. I am telling her to wait for couple of days when we find someone's home for these cats!

Your wife takes the cats and puts them somewhere? I've no idea how it is where you are but here this is a crime AND in my opinion cruelty to animals. Doesn't your country have animal shelters? Or is your wife one of those people who has fear of what people may say when she takes them to that place? Sorry if this sounds rude but.. well.. ;) Hope you know that it's not a personal attack or something!!!!

Though there is SPCA - society for prevention of cruely to animals it is not active here. We had telephoned them several times and they had not bothered to come and pick up these animals. Yesterday some family have comeforward to take the kittens to raise them. They might come today.

know that he will be waiting for you with other loved ones and you will love it when you will see them, more than you can imagine. and yes, the cat will speak to you in a verbal language too. for now get another cat if you feel like and pray for the one who has completed his life here. apple.

I don't like sentences like "thanks for your comment" since it is strange to discuss something and saying "thanks" for a comment. But I have to say thanks for your kind words. Did you loose an animal you liked/loved?

Mine got hit by a car. He was 11. I cried alot. Then we got a new kitty and I kind of forgot about the other one. I know the old one can never be replaced, but it's still only a pet. I love the pets I have now and would be momentarily heart broken if anything happened to any of them, but, unlike people, you can always get another one and you'll fall in love with it just as much as the other one.

Yeah, to wait may be the only way to heal the pain. But it doesn't always work (I mean generally speaking). I'm very sorry for your loss!!

paralized ohh that doesn't sound nice. yeah, an other sad thing is to see the pet suffer. you think "ohh, it is better for him/her to put him/her to sleep - he/she won't suffer anymore", but in heart it doesn't always help to know "now he/she doesn't feel any pain anymore"..
