Is it Starve a Cold?

When I woke up yesterday morning I knew I was getting s cold. It wasn't bad at all...just a baby cold, but I took some cold medicine anyways to maybe stop it! I took medicine on three seperate occasions yesterday (morning, afternoon, night). I woke up today and my cold was worse! I took some more medicine, but is there anything else I can do? I have to work tonight and I really don't want to be sick! What other things can I do to help get rid of my cold? I drank some hot tea last night, I drank orange juice this morning (even though I hate it!) but I'm wondering if you have anymore tips for me? Thank you!

try and get lots of rest before you go to work, also try hot soup at work, and perhaps you might want to stock up on vitamin c and echnicea pills. hope you feel better soon!

I will def. rest a lot before I go! lol. I do that good. hehe. But I won't be able to eat soup at my work. No way too heat it up, if I can find the kind I like here I might be able to have some before I go! :) Orange juice has vitamin c right?

It's feed a cold starve a fever. Do you have any vitamin C on hand? Drinking orange juice is great, but other Vitamin C wouldn't hurt. And if your throat hurts, make sure you get some GOOD tasting lozenges. I hate it when I buy disgusting tasting ones on accident. Most of all, rest when you can. Drink water so you don't get dehydrated. And hopefully you'll be better soon. I'll be saying a prayer for you. : )

Thank you very much Ambie :) Thankfully my throat hasn't started hurting (yet). It's just my head and I have a stuffy nose. I'm not sure if we have vitamin C tablets around, but we might so I'll take one if I find it :) I have a glass of orange juice and water with me while i rest on the couch! :) hehe.

Walgreens sells vitamin C drops that taste like candy. I mean they aren't bad for you like candy, but for instance, Sunkist makes one kind and it helps us out with the Vitamin but tastes good too.

Just keep drinking lots of fluids and you will drown those nasty germs! I don't mean to be gross, but if you drink a big glass of something without taking a breath, it may pull some of the congestion out of your sinuses. Of course, it will go down your throat and into your stomach... The hot tea will also melt the congestion in your head. If you do acquire a sore throat, have a spoonful of honey to soothe it. I totally depend on NyQuil when I have a cold or don't feel well so that I can get some sleep. Feel better soon!

Thank you very much! :) So when I'm drinking don't give myself a breath!? I never heard that but I'll try it. Maybe i'll go have a nice cup of hot tea and do it now before I go to work...I have 40 mins! =P lol. I take Day Quil when I get colds. Medicine nevre really seems to work for me, but it must help at least a little bit. I hope I don't get a sore throat, because I really don't like honey! lol. But thanks for that tip too! =P

I am sorry to hear you are not feeling good, bless your heart a cold in this heat, that is never good. I can only say time is the one thing that will get rid of a cold. I have yet to find a trick to help with one. I hate those darn things.

Yeah lol. I find it odd that I have a cold when the weather here has been over 100 everyday! *Sigh* it's just my luck lol. I was sick for my first day of work, and now the second! Goodness! lol. Thank you.

Well, I sort of made it up, but the doctors tell you to drink lots of fluids in both cases. In the fever to stay hydrated & in the cold to keep the congestion moving. That's what I call drowning them.
