I think you should give your walls a red tint underneath, and also include some wood stained pieces, mahogany or red oak, something that will not have visitors blinking. The white wall is okay if you do not touch it, but it is hard to keep clean. Red and white is too much of a contrast, you will have to add some other colors so that it does not hurt your eyes. The two color combination sounds too harsh. You could put some black, maybe have a bookcase where the inside is red and the outside black, or visa versa.

It looks sharp and I think red color will make you feel excited and happy. And white will make you calm down. So I think it is a good idea.
