I am sure each of you knows how much water we should drink per day.I just wonder if you hold on to it? I have really problem to drink enough water or other liquid per day, becuase I am never thirsty. So of course I forget all the time to drink and then at 3p.m. I realize I do not feel good and of course it is from little dehydration.Do you have same problem?Do you count also like me how much you drink per day or just listen your thirst?

I was never thirsty either, until I read a book by F. Batmanghelidj, MD. entitled "Your Body's Many Cries for Water: You are Not Sick, You are Thirsty" in which he explains the role of hydration in human health. When I realized that I had taught myself to ignore my thirst signals so long they just weren't working right any more, I got a little notepad out and put down the hours in the day and began keeping a record of each sip of water I took. At first I hated drinking the water so much I could only get a tablespoon or so down at a time. But over time, the sips became gulps and I found myself wanting more and more water every day. Now I love to drink water, and easily finish a quart or two every day in addition to other liquids. I think my hair and skin are nicer and I feel great and have not had a headache in 15 or 20 years. I recommend that everyone who has a hard time drinking water should work to get their natural thirst back. It is very much worth it.

Gallstone_Gall Blader - What are GALLSTONES?

Some people form different size stones in the gallbladder. There may be a single stone or as many as 100 or more. Some stones are made of cholesterol, calcium, a blood pigment, or complex mixed stones with combination of above.

What is gallbladder and what is its function in the body?

Gallbladder is a pear shaped and sized bile bag, that is part of the biliary tree. It is connected to the bile tube coming from the liver. This bile tube is called common bile duct that joins with a tube coming from an organ called pancreas and opens in to a part of intestine called duodenum. The normal function of the gallbladder is to store the bile produced by the liver until a person eats and then the gallbladder muscles squeeze the bile in to the common bile duct to empty in to the duodenum, where it plays a part in the digestion of fatty food.

Are gallstones normally present in everyone?

No gallstones are normally present in everyone. The presence of gallstones in gallbladder indicates the diseased gallbladder. The person is at an increased risk of complications of gallstones. These include gallstone attacks, infection of gallbladder, passage of stones in the common bile duct, obstruction of common bile duct, cholangitis, yellow jaundice, gallstone Pancreatitis to name a few.

What happens when some one has gallstones?

Gall stones in the gallbladder act as a ball valve. Whenever gallbladder contracts the stones get wedged in to the outlet tube called cystic duct. This leads to increase of pressure inside the gall bladder. This produces referred pain and discomfort. Some people describe that as gas pain in upper abdomen, or right side back or right upper side of the abdomen under the rib cage. This can also produce vomiting. The symptoms can mimic heart attack or angina. Fatty foods are usually the culprit in the attacks but virtually any food can cause gall stone attacks. The pain or discomfort may ease up when the stone falls back or passes down the cystic duct in to the common bile duct.
Hi Laurika; Better drink enough water like me 8 liters in a day. I never bother about dehydration that will happen to you because you can see the difference on your skin. Try to scratch your skin with your finger nails? can you see the dry line mark? If you can see means really your in less water intake. What I'm worried is your gallstone? Have you ever heard what are the caused of that to happen?. One of the cause is less drinking water intake. Want to no more about gallstone?...here you are...... What are GALLSTONES? Atleast some 600 responses are there in a topic on how much of water one drinks in a day and there are several experts participated in the discussion topic. According to them 2 to 3 litres perday seem to be adequate and it helps them in scores of ways. I drink 2 litres a day.

I don't count how much I drink each day. I just usually have a glass sitting near me with something to drink in it. I can't stand for my mouth to get dry so I always have something close by.

Living where I live, you can never drink too much water, because the minute you drink, you have to go and then drink some more.

I drink from the tap. I started doing this because it's so bad for the environment to buy individual bottles of water. We use a filter, and we drink from the filter. Before we had it we used to drink from bottled water bought from the market since none of us trust the tap. Supposedly it's relatively safe to drink, but I wouldn't drink it - since tap water isn't filtered enough to drink. Our tap water has been tested and is safe to drink, and tastes fine to me. I feel so much better using a reusable bottle than having to go through disposable bottles multiple times a day.

I am the same I know I'm supposed to drink it, but I never do. I have just started buying Crystal Light, and Lipton on the go packs to add to my water. So I pre-make them and just got the the fridge and grab one. It looks like juice so it tricks my mind.
