lilies - cat poison

September 2, 2007 5:12pm CST
I have just read in a magazine that lilies can be fatal to cats. It only takes for them to lick some of the pollen off their fur for it to kill them within a few hours. Apparently there are warnings on these flowers in America, but it is little known here in England

I didn't know that either. I suppose though that cat are unlikely to ingest these. The problem with lilies is that they can get the pollen on their fur if they brush past them or on their nose if they sniff them, and then lick it off.
