Yesterday my family was having a get-together at the local walking park and there was an elderly couple there. They had probably done ten to twenty laps around the park and I hadn't even done one before I was exhausted. It made me kind of ashamed. I'm only seventeen and they were probably in their sixities! That's completely pathetic of me! I'm not overweight or anything, so I'm wondering why was it so hard on me? Maybe I should work out more...

lol...If I recall, it was pretty pathetic! They made 2 laps to our one. Gah! We need to get in shape and start a walking regimine. I think if I managed to get out and walk at least 3 or 4 times a week, I would feel much better during the day. I like walking too so I don't know why I don't more. Working out is always better with a buddy anyway.

My brother and sister in law live not too far away from a (small) gorge we visit. Above it is a swinging bridge which is part of the Appalachian trail. We're in our early 50's but we were whining a little about aches and pains, when we looked up and there crossing the swinging bridge was a couple who were probably in their 70's. They had on full backpacks and were hiking the trail. That was good for us! It's always good to get plenty of exercise (a little yoga, or stretching, is good too!) If you could establish the habit early in your life, it's a great benefit.

I can't even imagine doing that! Wow I really must be out of shape. I'm still sore from the one lap yesterday. Oh, by the way, you mentioned the Appalachian trail. Are you from North Carolina or somewhere nearby? I'm from NC and it's always nice to meet someone else from NC online. :)

it needs to be done as much as you can like everyday to get yourself going for this..those woman in their sixties are already used of walking as their exercise thats why they have all the stamina..you have to have yourself get used of it too and once you do it everyday you will gonna have the stamina like them..

I know. There are a lot of health problems in my family history too so I'm really going to have to start taking better care of myself. Thanks for the response!
