Happy Labor Day, even if you don't celebrate it in your country

Wishing everyone a happier Labor Day than what I'm having so far...mine started off crappy. Went to bed and started reading to help knock me out. Next thing I know it was 6 hours later! Damn phone starts ringing at 12:20pm (almost an hour ago) and I'll be damned if it wasn't my mom. I'm going to see her at my grampa's cookout in just about 4 hours. She immediately recognized my sleepy voice and told me to go back to sleep (she oughtta know that don't work, once I'm awake, I'm up). So, I ask her what she wanted. ( I spent an hour with her on the phone yesterday to humor her, she talked about nothing and maybe 2 important things, who can remember all that?! ) Anyway, she said she didn't want anything. OMG! Some Labor Day. I hate going around my Grampa on no sleep, he's got "worry" in his blood & will know I've had no sleep by looking no matter how well I disguise it...and yep, he'll worry. I hate worrying him over nothing. On the upside, the food will be good & I may get to see my Uncle Sam (yep, I really have a flesh & blood uncle named Sam) & eat some great burgers while I try to assure my Grampa I'm getting sleep, etc. How is your Labor Day going so far? If you have to go to work today, I'm sorry...and if you're a server, I hope you bank FAT today! Peace & Love to all...

Yes, I wish yourself & all my American friends a Happy Labor Day. I was talking to my friend Paul that lived with myself & my mother for over 10 years before moving across the pond last night, & he is working in Hollywood as an architect. Anyhow he joked that he had a day off today & his boss Steven Spielberg no less jokingly complained he had it easy lol

Man, I know if that were me working for Spielberg, I wouldn't have left my friend & his mom behind, but hey, that's me. Hollywood, eh? Sounds like fun...and I bet you'd be heller in the movie industry. Anyhoo, thanks for the good wishes. I'll make sure to have some extra fun at the cookout just for you.

He only went to the states originally for a month touring with a band, but he met a girl out there & stayed, & hasn't been back to the UK in 5 years. He married her within a month & was divorced in 6 months. He's now with a lass from south America, but she lives in Chicago. He was working on James Spaders house last week, he's met quite a lot of well known people

It won't be too happy for me, I have to work today. I have to work every holiday including Christmas unless I get another job. So my labor day will be spent in work. You have a happy labor day too.

I work at Denny's right now and it's the only place in my town open on Christmas. So, I would get a lot of money, but I also would have to go in which really sucks.

I hope you bank bigtime today. I hope your section has no cheap people today. I hope your management is on happy pills today so your day runs smoothly. I can't believe people would go out to eat on Christmas Day...there's something wrong with that, even if Christmas isn't what they celebrate...diner food on Christmas is like getting a ding dong with a candle for a birthday cake. Again, I hope your day goes fast.

... and a Happy Labor Day to you, boy yours sounds fun filled with family events, what FUN! We stayed home today with our small family, we have been busy all weekend attending to the remodeling on the house and I think I wore all my workers out .. he he ... at least we accomplished alot those 2 days, now it is time for clean up. Have a great rest of the day. It has been raining alot here in Texas so we are staying in enjoying the thunderstorms.

Sounds like fulfilling work tho. We are always worn when we change something with our home, but it always feels good when it's done. :D I hear that there is a hurricane down there too. I hope all you get is rain from it. Soon I have to pry myself out of this chair and get ready to go eat some burgers & dogs, lol. I'm starved, so it'll be great. Yes, there's stuff here to eat, but why bother when in two hours there will be a feast out in my grampa's back yard?
