I love being a mother. Are there any other moms out there that agree?

I have not always wanted to be a mom. When I was a teenager, I thought maybe I would like to be single all my life and just travel the world. Well, the Lord had different plans for me! I met a guy, we married, and along with our four kids we did a LOT of travel! So it worked out in the end after all. When our kids were younger it was a lot of hard work, but I also enjoyed them very much. I homeschooled each of them at some point or another, so I must really have enjoyed them! I think one of the things I loved the most was the differences between them. They are four very different individuals, unique in personality, abilities, and interests. I'm glad that one of their common loves is Jesus Christ! Mine, too! I really love being a mom, and we have great adult kids. They're not perfect, of course, but they're about as close to it in my eyes as anyone can be. :) What about you? Are you a mom? Do you enjoy it, or not?

Wow! It sounds like you love being a mom! I'm so happy for you. Your daughter sounds like a sweet and funny little girl. I'm sure you're very proud of her. If I had known in high school how great being a mom would be, I would have written it down as my preferred career, too. :) Thank you for your enthusiastic response! :)

That is so sweet--Mimi! I love the way toddlers talk :) It is hard work chasing them around at that age, isn't it?! But you're right, you will feel haggard for a while as your baby is still young. However, they are still so precious at that age! I hope you will continue to be a wonderful Mimi to your baby girl! Thanks for sharing :)

I too never wanted kids. I wanted to work and travel the world, but I met a guy at 21 and we had a beautiful baby daughter. We aren't together anymore and being a single mother is hard but i wouldn't give it up for anything! I will travel the world one day but i will have my daughter to share it with!

You're right. That's one of the wonderful things about being a mom--having someone to share your life with! I'm sure being a single mom is difficult. I've never done it myself, but I have been alone with our four kids when my husband went on 3-week trips. Usually everything would go wrong as soon as he was gone! LOL A pipe would break, there would be an earthquake, our dog had 12 puppies under a shed where we couldn't get her out, one of our kids would break a bone, etc. It was always some kind of crisis. I respoect you for sticking it out as a mom! Thanks for sharing your response :)

Perhaps one day you will have children of your own, especially since you enjoy them so much. It is hard work, but it is enjoyable, as you said. I used to try to write down the funny or interesting things that our children said, especially when they were little. We still laugh about those things, and I'm glad now that I took the time to write them down! Thank you for responding to this discussion :)

I've always wanted to be a mom and I have 2 lovely boys - 7year old Pranavswaroop and 9 month old Omkar. I love being a mom but after the second I wish I had 10 more pairs of hands and an extra 24 hours in the day..lol Some days it's really tough...but I still love and enjoy what I am doing. I can make out that both my boys are very different from each other. I love that too. But I only hope I will be able to handle the differences in them without upsetting either one.

I absolutley LOVE it!! I Wouldnt trade it for the world :) There are abviously trying times when you have children but I believe that these times are what makes us better people. I have a 9 year old little girl as well as a 3 year old little boy! The age gap between them is a bit challenging at times...but worth every minute :)

One of the few things that has always stayed the same in my life is my want to be a mother. I have always known that I wanted to have at least child & I wanted it to be a girl. I am now the proud mom of 3 beautiful girls. I would not change a thing.

I really love it. My sons are grown now, but I loved the changing of diapers and the fun we used to have, seeing them take their first steps, standing up in their car bed on the road (oh that was fun!) and them thinking they were supermam. I only could adopt two, and I wished I could have had more. Even though they may not be directly related to me (I am part German and so are they so we may share a common ancestor) I felt as if I actually gave birth to them. They have left home, one is married and my granddaughter is such a little angel.

I have 3 grown kids and have always loved being a Mom from the day I had my first one. The big problem comes when they grow up and leave "the nest". I had a difficult time with that. When their adults they don't need us the same way they did when they were kids.

I can't believe I am a mother of somebody!!! I enjoy being a mother very much, it is the most wonderful gift from God. I can't imagine my life without them. I hope and pray I'm the best mother for them. My husband and I are trying our very best to turn them into great men someday.

That is wonderful that you feel that way about being a mom, and you as a couple being parents! I hope and pray with you that you will mold and shape them into great men. Kids have their own personalities, but we as parents, and especially moms, have many opportunities to help them live up to their potential. That's hard work, but well worth it, don't you think?! Thank you for responding! :)

I am a mother of two beautiful daughters. Back in 1983 when I married my husband I thought that all my dreams were going to come true. But the marriage fell apart and in 1989 I divorced my husband. There was many rough times. But my daughters were always there for me. The funny, cute and loving things they said and did helped me make it through. I love them more than I can even begin to say. And now they both have made me a grandma. So now I get to enjoy the grandkids grow.
