Just the other day, my boyfriend and I were looking through the local Pawn Broker, and we came across the most amazing stereo, on sale for $200! It holds 25 Discs, comes with remote and two speakers and works like a dream. My cousin had one of the same brand that he bought second hand about 6 months ago for $1000! I definitely rate this is the best buy I've found - how about you? What is the best bargain consumer item you've found and bought, how much did you pay? =D

Wow good for you! Is the shop you bought it in getting closed or something? It's over 80% off o.o The best bargain items I bought would be clothes like Marks & Spencer jeans skirt that costed me about $1,5. I was really cheap :P

No, the shop is a Pawn Broker - people sell the items that they no longer want to this shop, and the shop then sells it for a 20% or so profit on what they paid the former owner. I'm fairly sure that the stereo I bought was marketed for $3000 when bought new. Is the price that you wrote $1500, or $1.50? I was slightly confused =] I also get great bargain clothes, I bought a great dress for one dollar just yesterday =D I just need an event to wear it to now! lol.

=D *phew*! I was wondering! I thought about how much it must have cost to begin with if it was on sale for $1500 =P Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, the Pawn Broker's great, and they take pretty much everything. There's some really nice instruments and cds/dvds/games and stuff that they sell as well as some gorgeous jewellery at my local store =D

I think the best bargain we bought is our TV set, we bought it for only Php3,000, around $64.00 when you convert it to your money and it's 21 inches, flat screen and with surround speaker.

It sounds like you got a great deal! I am usually pretty good about looking for bargains and getting stuff for a good price. I hate paying full price for most things if I know I could get it cheaper somewhere else, or at some other time. If I paid full price for all my stuff, I would either have a lot less stuff, or a lot more debt. lol The best bargain I think of right now was some of the baby stuff I got. A guy my husband worked with was getting a divorce while I was pregnant. His youngest was 2, and since he wasn't going to have anymore kids, and his wife didn't want to either, they sold us a bunch of stuff for $50. We got the crib, changing table, jumperoo, room decorations, and a big box full of infant toys for $50. Another guy my husband worked with just gave us the baby stuff he still had from when his kids were little. It included a bassinet, with the bedding, a high chair, a stroller, and a car seat. He wouldn't take any money for it, he just said my husband had to help him move and we would be even. Oh! And just yesterday my husband bought our son this easel at Hobby Lobby. It was originally over $100 and marked down to $30. It has a white board on one side, a chalkboard on the other, and a place in the middle for a roll of paper, so it can be pulled through the top and they can draw on it. We probably won't give it to him until next Christmas (he's only 19 months old), but it was such a good deal we couldn't pass it up!

WOW, you guys got some excellent bargains there, that's for sure! That easel sounds pretty damn awesome - similar to one that I had as a kid, but my dad made it for me =P Chalk board on one side and whiteboard on the other, but that whole paper-roll idea sounds great. I hope he uses and enjoys it very much =D I feel the same as you: I don't like buying something for its full price, even when I really want it, because I know soon enough it will be on sale there or somewhere else. It's not that much to wait and make some savings =D Thanks for your response Carla! Mal.

Well congratulations on finding such a great buy! :) My husband and I got a pretty good buy when we were looking for a TV about 13 years ago. We searched a few places and none of them had a real bargain for a new TV (or even a refurbished one)...that is until we went to Good Guys. My husband and I were driving along the road when I saw the store and I told him that we should go there and see what they had available. He didn't really want to, but I convinced him. Once there we were checking out some 27 inch TV's when an employee came up to us and we asked him what we could get for under $300. He showed us a 27 inch TV that was being sold in the box for $499, but he sold us the floor model for only $299. I was skeptical with it being that it was the floor model, but 13 years later it still works beautifully. :)

Hello Malyck! Whenever I go on shopping for things like stereo & all I avoid bargaining, I just buy good company products at reasonable price. While buying clothes, I do bargain a lot that too with friends. I usually go to shopping with two of my friends & get good quality clothes at quite cheap price...vani^_^

Hi Vani, thanks for your response. I didn't actually bargain with the store for my stereo, it was on sale for that price, as I got it from a second hand store, and the brand has a good name =] It's good going shopping with friends, having them there to find anything that I didn't. lol. Have a great day =]

Hi Malyck I have bought quite a few bargains but I think the best bargains I get are when I find things on the street; stuff that other people are throwing away and they usually work perfectly. If it is an electrical item my boyfriend lets it dry out for a few days and it works fine. Because of the way technology up dates itself so quickly people tend to throw away perfectly good items. These are the best bargains I get hold off. Denise
