I have been reading around the forum and seeing people reposting old post by other users is this allowed? I am just wondering why some people can't come up with their own idea's or words... My question is, is this allowed and should this be reported to mylot... I would consider it cheating but that is just my oppion what's yours?

I have seen this too and it really pisses me off when i am aware of it. I once welcomed a new member here, by being the first one to reply to his first discussion, and it was a rather serious response. He was satisfied with the answer and requested my friendship which i accepted with him being new. Half an hour later he actually posted my response as his own discussion. Need saying that he is no longer on my friend list?

I agree that this is cheating and should be reported. If you can't come up with a discussion to start, then spend time responding rather than reposting others. I think if I saw these, I would report them especially it they are copying and pasting them.

I'm sure you have... It sickens me to see this it really does.. This person sooner or later won't have an account here... cheaters should be banned not only banned but also by IP address so they can't come back and redo it..

I have noticed that too. I came across a discussion that was exactly the same as one I had started a couple of weeks ago. I dont mind though. I think I may have even started a few discussions that were similar to other peoples discussions when I was a newbie. I think for some of us it is a learning curve.

I agree that starting a discussion that is similar to one posted elsewhere can be a learning curve problem rather than cheating. It is quite difficult sometimes to tell for sure if a particular topic has been discussed before as different people use slightly different language sometimes to express the same idea. After beginning a discussion, I was once mortified to discover posted below it, under similar discussion, which had been posted a full day earlier. There is a difference, however, between posting on the same topic by mistake, and plagiarizing someone else's work word by word or intentionally passing one's ideas off as one's own. Even though the "pay" for posting on sites such as myLot might be considered modest, as soon as anyone takes any kind of money for something that is not their own, I would think that would constitute fraud, which is a crime. Similar, I think is fine, but exactly the same, word for word is intolerable.

If it is deliberately done, as in all were written just the same, I think that's really bad.

it is I've seen these posts before they are all just copy and paste to start a new post.. It is bad in my oppion for someone to do that, to me it's consider cheating and it's not right...This person has post after post I mean my box is filled with the reposts they have done..

If its true copying, blatant and obvious then it shouldn't be allowed. It is cheating. If its the original poster, copying something they posted on mylot and bringing it to another thread then no problem (I've done this a few times)

I can understand that for sure... But others thoughts and idea's it's just not right... Some people just don't care about others hard work here on mylot...

It's a cheat and should be reported. I report them every time I come across them. That is just stupid and low of them to steal someone else’s work and that is what they are doing. So report them.

Hi there Miss Pretty Wisconsin, well it is definitely not allowed and it should be reported to Mylot Admin. It is considered as cheating and we should not tolerate this. I think the reason why there's some people that just doing the copying and pasting other's discussions is because they have nothing to post, they dont come up to some ideas that really spread out in this world. Have a nice day ahead from Kiko and happy posting and happy earnings here in mYlot!

Whatever happened to intellectual property? To be sure, I feel that intellectual burglary is absolutely deplorable, be it here on myLot or anywhere else. Trying to make some sense of the existence of this particular problem in myLot, though, I am very much inclined to speculate that some myLotters repost the old posts of other myLotters perhaps because they find it more convenient to do so. Some myLotters perhaps find it easier to simply copy the ideas of others and claim that such are their own and, in the process, even earn from it, as opposed to perhaps the more tedious process of thinking on their own and producing or coming up with ideas of their own to be compensated for such, as shown by their evident penchant to just re-post the ideas of others. As to your main questions of whether this detestable practice should be allowed and whether this should be reported to myLot, my short answers would be a very resounding no and an unequivocal yes. To clearly elaborate, I honestly feel that copying, or (more appropriately, perhaps) stealing the ideas of others should not be permitted here in myLot because allowing such would seem to send the message that myLot is closing its eyes to the reality that cheaters and thieves thrive here in myLot. The myLotters who have original ideas and think for themselves, on the other hand, would gravely be affected if such crude practice continues, since they are going through the process of thinking of their own ideas and are being compensated for it, while the thieves and cheats simply conveniently copy their works and earn from it as well. Further, if myLot would allow this evil practice to continue, it would surely be to their detriment because honest myLotters would perhaps be understandably turned off by such and, as a natural result, they would perhaps just opt not to continue myLotting anymore, which would probably dramatically decrease the myLot population--an eventuality that the myLot management would not want to come about, to be sure. Accordingly, I strongly feel that your relevant suggestion that the aforementioned abuses should be immediately reported to myLot should certainly be heeded by every myLotter in order to finally identify the cheats and thieves, and for the myLot management to hopefully take the necessary steps to adequately sanction them by labeling them as cheats or thieves perhaps, if not totally revoking their memberships even.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write that all out.... I have been seeing this person I rather not say do this all the time not to mention taking them from other forums as well and do it on other forums.. I think alot of people are going to agree with what you have to say and what you did say on this subject all and only because us honest people work hard to do our posting and make money... Thank you again for your reply and i will most certainly take your advice and move forward with the problem that i am seeing here on mylot!

I must agree with you and think it is cheating too. I think the people who do that are mainly here to get some money and they probably want to do it as fast as possible without doing anything for it. By the way why don't you report it?

I believe that is what this person is doing because of complaints of never having any money for a living, i mean really if a person is that much in a jam they should get a real job and not really depend on the net and sites like these to make lot and lots of cash cause it just simply isn't going to happen... Some spending money yes but not to making a living.. And i am going to go forward and report this person because if i don't i know others will thanks for your advice!

I think it is cheating as the other people who responded said. I try to see if there has been any conversations that are the same or similar to what I have posted and if there are some, then I will go and reply to theirs rather than just rehash it. Granted in my first couple of days here I did post similar discussions but I sure as heck didn't go using other peoples words and ideas. If you cant come up with something by yourself then why bother?
