For those who don't know what touch typing means, It's typing without looking at the keys. I do touch typing. I have learned to do this because I want to save time in my job as a transcriptionist. If you're interested to learn this, you better have some free softwares that you can download on the internet and start practicing. By and by you will be amaze with your improvement.

hey! congratulations for your yellow star! I wish I could touch type, but I can't and that made my typing slower, I tried learning but it see,s I would have a hard time cause I've been typing using the wrong fingers position for a long time now. Do you think I can still learn it? howlong would it take for me to become used to it?

It's just good practice that you need to do and remember to position your fingers the right way. The home keys are your guide. That is the basic. You can start slow and then gradually increase your speed. You have to set a goal like for a start, aim for at least 25 t 30 wpm, and then to 40 to 50. You will be amazed with your results. Playing games in the typing software you have can also increase your speed without you knowing it. Good luck!

I do. When I first started using computers, I couldn't believe that people could actually touch type. I thought it was way too complicated and something that I'd never learn. I especially thought this way when I was younger. Now that I've taken a bunch of computer classes and have spent a lot of time online, I know that it is possible to touch type simply because I can now do it!

I touch type. I can't imagine trying to look at the keys. That would take such a very long time to get anything done at all.

That is really cool. I now realize that we can save time by not looking at the keyboard at all and we can look at the monitor instead. We can correct mistakes with in fraction of seconds while typing. I have heard about a software called typing master pro. I will try to learn this skill soon

I do touch typing as well. But in The Netherlands we call it blind typing, because you are not looking at the keys but at the screen.
