Do you think that the God is testing us with temptations?

Or it is uncontrollable will power that is leading us to become victims of temptation? Or is it mass influence that make us indulge.

maybe it's a test from the God,but i prefer to explain it in another way: 1.it's not a test but a chance to make you stronger. yes, give up ,you will be controled more by life; but fight ,you will get a chance to control your life more. 2.it's not from the God. No one else likes to spend time on testing a unrelated guy instead of doing some funny things for himself,so does the God.In addithion, the God have not enough time to know what can tempt each person most. hehe.... 3.it's from yourself. only you can make the temptations by yourself, also only you exactly know what can tempt yourself .which can also expain why the tempatations are so power that few people can fight against it. 4.factly,temptations are not tough guy,but the temptations made by yourself is the right tough guy. so, there's an old saying in China goes as:no desire,no weak! that means your desires make the temptations for you and make you stay with the potential danger . Thus,no hiding it's impossible to control your desires completely, still, control it properly.and you will feel that you become stronger ,and you like a master of life more!

No desire, no weak : Excellent and very well said and quoted here appropriately. The very essence of Buddhism is based on this principle. Desires are mainly responsible for all our problems. You have said it right by stating if one can control oneself, one will feel stronger. I need to do it right now. Thanks for meaningful participation.

It could be that God is testing us with temptations. There are too many things that we cannot resist the temptation of possessing the things we want. Temptation could be a bad thing as well as a good one. It depends on how you handle it.

We will always have things that Tempt us. And it is not God who does this. I believe it is the Devil and our conscience that tempts us and it is up to us how we deal with these temptations.

God test us so we can experience victory.Gor allows us to enter into faith combat so we can see his deliverance and victory over our adversary. As we are faithful where we are,god will give us a larger sphere of responsibily. The larger the task ahead-the bigger the test required now.God does not test us to hurt us or defeat us.He testing us because he loves us too much to put us into a position of responsibility which would be too much for us,where we would be put to shame.Test should be bread for us.We should go stronger in faith as we pass each test. The test does not make us strong but the words og god make us strong as we use to overcome test.

You are absolutely right. God is aware of everything about us. He is giver and he snatches it when we do not deserve it. Thanks.

I always believe that God will not give us something which we can not carry on. If temptation is from God, then we can avoid it with His great help. Everytime something happens to me, I always think it is something I can overcome- including temptation.

When GOD on one hand and temptations on the other, we tend to choose the temptations and for a while we ignore god. That is human. Thanks for your response. Have a nice day.

we all know god is good he has a very long temptation to us.he always give's us a one more chance everytime we had our wrong way.god is greate! and i think he did not control us, he leave's us to do what ever we thinks is right to our selves.sO that we can know if we are in right or wrong way, even to our decision, we make our own decision to know if we are doing good decision to our selve's.

Hi again.. I see that you posted this discussion awhile back...but it is a great topic and one that has a 'timeless' feel to it. Within my spiritual framework I do not think that God has anything to do with the how and why we become victims of temptation. In my view God is a Source of pure light and love. Through our God-given right of free will we can either choose to know God by opening ourselves to become all that our Creator is...or exercise or CHOOSE something more self-serving. Becoming a 'victim of temptation' is a choice WE MAKE. The temptations can be there but we do not have to involve ourselves unless something within our psyche or socialization has developed a belief that we 'have to have' whatever it is we have come to believe we need or want to fill some void within ourselves. Within my personal and professional experience I have come to 'know with my Know' that everything we need to become whole, healthy, strong and live more conscious spiritual lives comes from within. From my perspective I see humanity as spiritual beings going through human experiences. Living within Source centered awareness gives us the opportunity to learn how to live abundantly within with world...while not being part of it and being ruled by any outer temptation. It takes time...but I believe we are all on a path to greater spiritual illumination whether in this life...or some future realm. In the end it is all about the choices we make... Good topic again ssh123..nice to participate as always, Raia

My father-in-law is a doctor for 40years and has taken to philosophy in his evening of life. Couple of years ago, he used to quote from Himalayan Master, about life. I used to just listen, could not understand alpha and omega of it. Now that I am interacting with people like you, I slowly realize the importance of understanding the philosophy of life. In your response, you have analysed the topic very well and treated it to explain step by step, the meaning for words which I uttered. In fact by posting your response, you have enhanced my knowledge resources and I sincerely thank you very much. I agree with you that God has and never interfered with our temptations.

i don't agree with it, really. why? we all know that God is love right? now if you love someone would you like him/her to suffer? or let us say put to test that you know it could lead him/her to destruction? how much more with God, the idea of God putting us into temptations contradicts that God is love. so basically it's not that God put us into temptations but rather it's Satan, God's enemy.
