Nielsen ratings....need info

The ads I see on mylot all the time for Nielsen ratings, has anyone personally signed up for this and do you really make any money off of it? I have not seen any ads for this on any other site, and I was wondering if anyone actually participates in this.

I do participate in this. They send you a handheld scanner to scan all of your purchases. Once a week you download them onto the website. It is very, very simple. You do not, however, earn money. You earn points. You are given a catalogue of prizes/gifts and you cash in your points for whatever you want when you have enough points to do so.

Pat thank you for sharing with me on this. You are the first person I have ever had to tell me anything about this. Are the prizes/gifts worth the extra effort? Does it take much of your time to do this and do you do this daily, weekly, monthly or what time is involved in this?

I download to the website once a week, every Friday afternoon. The scanner doesn't have an endless memory. Once you download it is gone from the scanner. I also received a survey in the mail which I just completed on the scanner.
It certainly doesn't make me buy more. I just let them KNOW what I BUY and where. The kids have gotten into it and sometimes they fight over who gets to do it so sometimes I don't even have to do it at all.
But it is taking a long time to build up enough points to cash in for one item. But Nielsen is a highly respected company that has been around a long time. I don't distrust them at all. I have had to call for help by telephone and have received very positive and friendly service.

I have been involved in the Neilsen ratings for the TV and kept the diary years ago. I also have joined the Nielsen web site for surverys. I have been involved in alot of online surverys to win items and to get paid for them. I like to do surverys that you get paid for doing. I have two sites that I have gotten paid for doing surverys for. I am getting the next checks from both sits to be drawn on October 1. They will add up to about 60 dollars.

I have signed up for it a million times (ok I exaggerate a little) but they don't seem to want us Mac users.
So be it, their loss, we are the fastest growing segment of the computer sales maket and they don't care from us.

I did it sometime back. I had to download something and then I had computer problems right after I did, so I got rid of it.....never had a chance to make bucks.
