What is the worse vacation/holiday you can recall. What made it so bad. Did you travel to get there?

Back in 1991 when we went to Corpus Christi and I lost my wallet, we had all the spending money there and we had to return right away because we didn't have any money left. We traveled in our car to get there.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that you lost your money..did that wallet ever show up? I know that must have been a terrible heartbreak for you and your family.

Yes, when we came back somebody returned our wallet to a hotel and they sent it back to us, all the documents were there except the money. To me the most important thing were the documents.

I am very keen on travel and have been to many places in the world. None of the countries that I have been to have I disliked. I made the mistake of having a salad to eat in Indonesia before I caught a ferry over to Malaysia. I was sick for the whole journey. I felt very ill and weak. Over that week I had a terrible fever and I was very sick. I had to get other backpackers in to help me. I got better from my sickness and went to a village in order to get a ferry over to a beautiful island. One evening I went out and it was so dark that I fell down an open drain. I really hurt my leg. It was Chinese New Year and the backpackers were all leaving the village to go to the island. I struggled with them in such pain with my leg. I had a miserable time on the lovely island. I got a taxi from the village to the border of Malaysia so I could get to Singapore. I returned home from my year around the world on crutches.

The worst vacation/holiday that I could remember is this one time. My husband and I had a long holiday. We had five days to spend on this vacation and we have booked our hotel room in advance. On the first day, we found out that there were so many tourists gathering at the same place we are heading to, which meant the traffic would be congested. It turned out to be true. When we arrived at the town, there was a traffic jam and we was stuck in it for two hours before we could reach our hotel room. To add more pressure, the temperature was so hot that we felt like burning cakes in our car. Our air conditioning was not functioning at that time, and you could only imagine how hot it was sitting for two hours under the hot sun! Lol. On the second day, it was quite okay because we had already checked in and if we wanted to go to the beach we would just walk there. The hotel room was very near to the beach. So we bathed in the sea the whole day and enjoyed ourselves very much. Later that night, we decided to dine at a seafood restaurant outside from the hotel compound. So my husband drove his car through the traffic jam and spotted a seafood restaurant after half an hour sitting in the car. When we arrived there, we sat down and had to wait for almost half an hour before the waiter came to take our order. After that we had to wait for two hours before our food arrived. We were so angry and annoyed when the food arrived because the grilled fish we ordered were unedible. It tasted faulty. The vegetables were the same. We had to pay a high price for the inedible meal. My husband vomited as soon as we came out of the restaurant. Urghh! That was the worst experience ever. If we want to go to the same beach again, we would remember never to go to that particular restaurant again.

I was about nineteen or so, camping in a park somewhere in B.C., but do not ask me where I was because I never kept a diary and if I did, I moved so many times, that any written record was lost. I do have a few photos, but do not tell me where I was at the time. I am not into autobiographies. Well we were near some mountains, and decided that this was a nice place to camp, only it rained and the whole tent got flooded. We almost floated out into the river. It was a big rush to get out and move the tent.
