Do you hate people who speak out about controversial subjects?

What I mean about controversial subjects is religion, politics, gay & lesbian relationship, moral issues, atheism, theory of evolution, etc? Why do people have to make name calling when the controversial subjects are discussed or debated? If we can't talk controversial subjects with cool head and heart, how can we solve those problems?

I don't think it would be worth the trouble to hate people who speak their mind about discussions that are considered controversial. For one everyone should have the right to speak their mind, unfortunately, no matter how close minded they may be. I think that if we talk about the subjects, that's how we see others viewpoints and such. But if you don't talk about it, you'll never solve it.

Yes, it is true. Why should we hate someone because of different point of views? It is ridiculous. But some people don't like different opinions.

i admire people who have the guts to talk and face controversial subjects, what i dont like is when they are not open to many other option posited and present in the problem and that when they debate when after all they would just be arguing and showing other people how knowledgeable they are but they wouldnt really like to do anything to actually solve the issue. so i usually dont join the debate team in our school, i can see and understand that they know how to argue and to memorize facts but without really acting upon the problem all of what they have said remains pointless.
