Changing your lifestyle rather than jumping into a diet and believing it'll shed away the pounds and your problems. Realising why you have put on weight and dealing with those issues. Exercise is part and parcel with food. Eat the amount of calories recommended for your lifestyle activity level. Though running is a fantastic thing to get into it, I find swimming is better for losing weight although there's no law stopping you from doing more than one type of exercise. I run and swim and cycle.
