Do you know how to take care of hemorrhoids?

Do you have an herb that works for you? An over the counter medication that works for you? Do you have a mature Dr. you can discuss things with or a nitwit like the only gastro-interologist we have that just laughs and thinks the entire thing is funny (he's so embarrasing). I hear there are operationgs, but you must be really bad off to have them.

As I recall from my child-bearing years, the old stand-by, Prep. H works just fine. But there are clenching exercises you can do while you're sitting that help, and my BEST tip?? Lean back with your knees apart on the toilet! Seems simple, but the best tricks usually are! A friend had the operation, and still has to worry about them coming back, needs stool softeners every day, has to watch her diet closely and keep the high-fiber going. So its not a good quick fix!

The clenching exercises are making everything worse. I started doing them as part of my physical therapy for my car accident to strengthen my back and my butt, but they are making me worse in the h way. I like your simple idea. Seems good to me. I'm already high fiber. Tons of fruit, whole grain bread, veggies, not much meat or pasta. Didn't think an operation was a great way to handle it, but where this one is, may be the only way. Thank you.

I hope it helps you. This is a miserable situation and I wish you had a more sympathetic doctor, or at least a more professional one! The exercise helps the most if they are inside. If it were to shrink down from the ointment, there is still that possibility. I'm thinking good thoughts for you, and I hope you'll be feeling and doing better soon.

Yes, I wish my Doctor wasn't a jerk! Anyway, either inside or outside would be more tolerable, but starting in one area and going to another creates problems if you get my drift. Part of why the exercises are a problem. Oh well, I'll figure something out but due to the passing through location, I may have to have an operation. Interesting that Prep H does work. You see commercials, but you never know if something if for real or not. Thanks.

You might want to try this home remedy that has worked for my dad when he went through the same dilemma: Half fill a basin with clean water. Put plenty of ice cubes and wait for the water to be icy cold. Sit on the basin and dip the affected area. The longer that you can stand it, the better. Do this for around 3-4 times a day or as many times as you can. This will eventually shrink the hemorrhoids. Also, I advise you to take a larger dose of vitamin C. This will also help in reducing inflammation in the area.

I think I would try a cold washcloth first. Don't want my butt checks to get frostbit. Thanks for your response, it sounds like it would work well. Take care
