I've been on mylot for 4 days now, what is the number next to everyones' names?

They increase all the time? Are they the # of discussions your start? or responses? or something else?

The number in parenthesis's are our scores of how many discussions we responded to. The stars are our ratings based on what other mylotters say about us.

That's a really a very good question for a newbie like you, megumiart.
The number beside your name that increases all the time is basically the number of times you've responded to or participated in a particular discussion here on myLot.
So, in response to your question, such a number essentially represents all the responses you've ever made in all the myLot discussions you've decided to actually participate in.
