I've read a few discussions recently on scams on the internet. So... how do we avoid them? What do you do to make sure you aren't being scammed by the different PTR or GPT sites? - I read all the terms of service, etc to see hidden charges like transaction fees for cashing out. - I visit gptboycott.com and see if the site has been reported or if people are discussing it. - Check on various forums and see what's being said about the site.

You are doing the right things. The most important thing however is to remain skeptical of any offer. Jumping blindly into something because it sounds so good will guarantee you will be taken. If it sounds to good to be true it is. Operated on that principal and you will be fine. If you make way too much money for the effort you put in....if you have to pay a fee just to work for them....you may be about to be scammed. There is no free lunch and that statement is reflected even more on the Internet.

joining forum as like gptboycott can help us to find out whether some site is legit or not. beside that you should read their TOS (term of service) before you decided to join with any site. i know its quite bore to read it but trust me, its important thing to do

Generally, if you think an offer is too good to be true, then it really isn't true. Sorry to say this, but most of us fall for scams because of our greed.

Yeah, i would say dont pay for anything, unless you are 200% sure that its legit...I make sure someone i know and have spoke to lets me know that its legit, until i pay...never been ripped off :) But then again i dont usually pay for stuff on the net...

The number one way is do NOT pay for anything! I also visit that site. And if someone refers me to it i usually ask them questions and see if they have proof of payment. I never sign up for anything that i have to pay for. Its usually a scam. Or if something has a really high payout and its easy to get its probably a scam. Take for example: $100 payout and you make the payout in a couple of days. Dont even bother waiting for the money because you arent going to get it.

My advice, never ever invest any money!!! If it sounds too good to be true than it really is...stay away from it! Research everything thoroughly and if you didn't enter any draws or contests than you haven't won anything...don't try to claim the prize and certainly don't give out any personal information!!
