Things getting worse (dad)

wELL AFTER VISITING DAD THIS AFTERNOON AND CHATTING WITH THE dR AND THE SURGEON THEY ARE HOLDING OFF THE GALL BLADDER REMOVAL. hIS PANCHREAS IS STILL SWOLLEN. hIS KIDNEY FUNction is not up to standards. His liver isn't operating properly. They have to take him off his paxil as it's a blood thinner. So now I have to wait a couple days at least for anymore info on the surgery etc. But dad was in good spirits when I ssw him. he is going to have an MRICP whatever the hell that is. I guess its radioactive die MRI to check for blockage etc in some organs. Anyhow he will be busy for the rest of the day so I came back just to do the update. I need to sit and pray and relax some for me. Thanks all. Will update as things progress. Ugghh! Going to go watch some TV and have a meal finally. I am so beat right now. Stress sucks. Thanks again all.

Stress definitely does suck Grandpa Bob! I am having some myself, but not nearly what your going through. I am so sorry to hear you dad is not doing well and had to have the surgery post poned. I am really praying that your dad will pull through and get the surgery and be back home in your loving care! Trust in God Grandpa Bob, sometimes we just have to give it to him and hope for the best. Take care and try not to stress out too much. I know that is easier said than done.

Thanks bunches. I was talking with one of the volunteers at the hospital today & she told me, after hearing that I've cared for my dad all this time, that God has an exspress lane for me when I get to heaven. She says God told St Peter to rush me right through to him when my time comes. I started to cry on the spot. yeah I'm a softy at times. I thought it was so sweet and cute. And this was from a woman in her 70's at least I'd guess. I am going to bed shortly after answering these responses here. I need the rest really bad as of late. Thanks.

I certainly don't blame you on needing rest during this time. It is important that is for sure! It sure does take it out of you doesn't it! Well, that lady sure knew what she was talking about. it is very touching for her to say something like that and I am sure it was cute, to hear her say that too. I probably would have cried myself, the older I get the softer I get, mostly around the middle but in my heart to hahaha! Sending prayers out to ya!

Hey Grandpa Bob, I am sorry to hear about your dads health being kind of bad. I had to have gallbladder surgery about 7 years ago so I know how he would feel. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family and I hope that your dad gets better soon.

OMG what next. I had a doctors appointment this afternoon and I told my doctor I had a friend who was 85 and having gall bladder problems and asked if it was possible in the states to do lazer to zap the stones (I know they do that here in Canada that's why I asked) My doctor said Yes depending on the persons health. So maybe look into that. I'm still praying and please everyone lets ban together and pray hard. Take Care...

Nope. I asked and seeeing as there are so many stones in his gall bladder laser burning is out of the question. Plus the gall bladder is infected, inflamed and not repairable. So out it comes Wed or Thur. That was so nice of you to ask your Dr about this. Thanks. That's a real friends caring being displayed there. Thanks dear friend.

Oh, Grandpa, I'm so sorry, I was so hoping that we would hear some good news. I hope your Dad gets better. Make sure you take care of yourself through all this. It's important that you are healthy, please don't let yourself get too stressed out. I know it's easy for me to say, I'm not in your shoes. I will say a prayer for you and your Dad.

Still praying on this end and hopeing you get some rest I know how stressfull it is trying to be with your dad and still take care of yourself,get a little rest if you can he is in good hands where he is and im sure they will call if they need you.
yep I think the little lady was correct with what she said anyone who fills the shoes that you do has to be in the expres lane. God bless.

I am really sorry to hear that your dad is worse and I hope that he is soon better. I know what it is like to be back and forwards to hospital and worrying and hope this time passes soon and you can all get back to normal. I am glad your dad is in good spirits and will pray he gets well soon.

i LOOK AT IT THIS WAY, i AM STILL WORRYING BUT THE STRESS OF me HAVING TO CARE FOR HIM HAVE SHIFTED INTO OTHERS HANDS. sO THERE'S a little less stress there at least. I took most the day off to rest and all today. Most the time was at the hopsiptal but still rested.

At least Dad is in good humor. Oh how I pray things go well. Take a hot bath tonight and go to bed early. Don't worry about us, here, we'll miss you, but we definately understand. Give you dad a hug from me, and wish him well. Give yourself a giant hug from me, and I pray that you can get through this.

Och Grandpa Bob what can I say! I am sure that your Dad will pull through and all will come good in time! I am so sorry that your dad is going through this and I know it must be so hard on you - I know how I felt when my Gran was ill and it wasn't easy. Grandpa Bob, I am sorry to hear of all the trouble your dad is having. They say that being in good spirits in times like this makes it easier on the patient. I hope that things turn around for him and I hope that they are able to do the surgery without complications. Get some rest and take care of yourself, too! I will be keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Ms Tickle, my father had been passing Angiogram tests for third times. That is why I know about it. At last my father's cardiovascular problem "healed" with only by eating raw garlic, one segment from the bulk everyday.

Ohh, I see. The gall bladder operation is off for now. That makes sense, as for any operation to occur, the patient needs to be in okay health. If your Dad kidneys, pancreas & liver are not working properly, they are not going to risk an operation at this stage.
Is he on a kidney dialysis, or a drainage bag?
I am thinking of your both.

He has a ctheter is all. And he is doing fairly well releasing the fluids tonight. And they said his lab results are getting better as far as liver and kidney function. the swolo,len pancreas will take longer but they can do the surgery with that anyhow they said. So as of 4 hours ago things are looking good for Wed or Thur surgery. Thanks bunches also for your care concern and being here.
