I am thinking of working overseas but I am not sure of local government regulations on foreigner employment. In addition, I do not know where to find these information. If I got into trouble who do I look for. You see, I am a newbie so I hope lots of hands reaching out for me. Thanks. Countries includes Japan, USA, etc.

well it is in your contract, what rules and benefits, a couple of days ago i read in the newspaper that in australia there are labor provision that agencies are not abiding specifically about their minimum salary, if this is the case a very timely dessimination of a very important info for the wellfare of migrant workers you are assurred that you are in good hands and your are guarranteed of a good environment both financially and safety, but if not you will just rely on your contract and hopefully everything goes well, compare it to some countries at least u get a baseline value much better than no referrence , it is hard to have some background if ur safety is your concern but being legal avoids those concerns.

Here are some tips: 1. If you are applying to work abroad through an agency, be sure that that agency can legally employ you to work abroad. There are a lot of illegal recruiters out there. 2. Try to find out if your country has an embassy in the country where you plan to work. Get the address and telephone number. If in case you get into trouble the consul will be able to help you out. 3. Research (internet or books) about the culture, traditions, laws that govern the country where you will be working. This will help you in dealing with the people there.
