When you are out driving on the road please be careful. Making careless mistakes while driving could cost someone else their life. Dont talk or your cell phone while driving. Dont even mess with your phone while driving. Pull over if its that important! I know someone that was killed in a horrible car accident recently. This accident was not at all his fault. Another driver was careless and not paying attention and caused the accident. This young man had his whole life ahead of him. He was only in his early 20's and he had it all taken from him. He left a wife and a big family behind. So please, please pay attentinon while your driving. Its not worth taking a chance with someone elses life or yours. Sorry if this sounds too emotional or whatever. It just really upsets me that people dont pay more attention. And its sad that innocent people have to lose their life.

When I read this. I had so many thoughts go through my head. People don't really care how they behave, unless it is one of their own, then the story changes. You mention talking on cell phones. Yes I am guitly of this, or was guilty of it. One day while on my speaker phone... I relized my mind was only half on the phone & half on the road. And it did scare me. I can also understand where you are coming from. I had drove school bus for 8 years. I have seen plenty! Things I wish I hadn't. I understand what you are saying. And "no you are not being too emotional". You are just saying what you feel. I'm sure there are many people that agree with you. It really sucks that innocent people die, when the evil people get to live till they are old. Even if they are on deathrow... They still get to have some type of life. Why is it the good die young, and the evil stay here on earth? Life is just cruel I guess.

Yeah i guess your right. Life can be cruel. And how you said "unless its one of their own the story changes" your right about that. But in this case its not one of my own. It was my brothers best friends. He was only 24. Even if these people never serve jail time they have to live with what they did for the rest of their life. But i dont think thats enough.

We should always remain focus with what we are doing specially when driving. When we turn our eyes off the road let say for just a little while could really make a big difference (or accident). When we have to call or answer a call I think it's better to just stop and set aside to answer your call. A little delayed in your trip will be much better than having an accident. I'm sorry to hear what had happened to that young man who have lost his life because of a careless driver. We should not only be concerned with ourself but also to the life of other drivers on the road.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your comments. The poor guy was only 24. It just upsets me very much. He should have had a much longer life. In cases like this i think charges should be pressed against the person who is at fault.

i couldn't agree more with you... there are a lot of irresponsible drivers nowadays... i don't drive... but i always remind my hubby to be a responsible driver and drive carefully... i definitely won't allow him to pick up the cell phone when he is driving... the law here is very strict... we will get a heavy fines (aboiut $200) and 3 demerit points if the police catch us doing that... thanks for reminding us again... i hope more and more people will become more responsible when they are driving...

You're right we should always stay focus while driving. Imagine someone close to you getting hurt in an accident, you wouldn't want that to happen so don't do it yourself! It's devastating to hear about the guy, but unfortunately these things happen all the time. Also we should never assume other cars will stop for us because the driver may not be focused or there are children in the other car.

/Seconded! /Signed! Absolutely right. Some people, ESPECIALLY IN THE STATES are under the impression driving is a birthright (or an ageright). "I turn 16, now I get to drive!" And other people are under the delusion that driving is a right and not a privilege. I blame the societies developing and transportation patterns as well as the I-I-I, me-me-me society that produces the moronic people consuming these things! I have seen (UP CLOSE, ON SCENE! Not TV!) plenty of accidents, some pretty gruesome and others where the highway patrol had to use the white tarp or body bags. And yes I've seen several photos, videos with some of these careless drivers. Everyone is so self-absorbed and inattentive they make driving vastly unsafe for people actually driving defensively and obeying the laws. Sick Idea Incoming I think instead of slap on the wrist punishments, society should employ a more fitting punishment for people who drive ultra carelessly, too fast, too unsafe, or otherwise just irresponsibly. We take the license away (for real, not a temporary break), and if they have problems getting to work, load them in a cannon and fire them to where they need to go! (Yes I'm being sarcastic, don't give me grief). Nmh, good discussion, you aren't emotional you are absolutely right. I've lost close friends and family because of other irresponsible drivers! And what do the clowns have to say or show for it!? NOTHING!! Personally I'm a straight arrow when driving (friends hate it when I drive). I do speed limits, at worse just 5 MPH above. I actually obey the school zones (got flipped off by someone who thought 20 was just a suggestion and that 40 would be better in this zone -_-) I never use the cell phone on the road. I always pay attention to things. I do not take unnecessary risks. And I'm always watching for people with the me-me-me style of driving and other incompetent peons behind the wheel.
