What do you do if you can't sleep at night?

Hi, Most often I too had this. For me I this occurs when I bit tensed or stressed. At that time I would just like clam my mind just listening to light musics, browsing, watching T.V. or some time I just walk. This basic objective at that time I want is just to clam my mind. Try to meditate even though sometime I am unable to do. Still I would try that. Some time have some light soft drinks. Any how if I am tried enough I would like to just lye. A good sleep I hope will give a good mind.

I seldom have this kind of problem because i am tired of my work everyday. Maybe sometime i got sleep in afternoon which cause me can't sleep at night. So , i will read novel or sms to my friend. Sometime i will call to my bf to chit chat for a while. But i think i more prefer reading novel if i can't sleep which will make me feel sleepy more faster.

Hello shy_gal. I do have the same problem as you whenever I sleep in the afternoon, I couldn't sleep at night. So, what I do is I make sure that I alarm my cellphone so, I wouldn't sleep more than 30 minutes. I also like reading sms from my friends and call my friends who I know are still awake that late.

first, i must know why i can't sleep at night. if i am sleep too much on the day, then i will do something, then go to bed later. i often do some exercises, then i will be tired in few minutes, then i want to have a rest, and i'm easy to sleep after taking a bath. if i am worried about something or i have a bad mood, then i must power on my computer and post some discussions or watch some entertainment TV programmes, then i feel better, and go to sleep when i am calm. besides, you can listen to some soft songs.

Usually I would just shut my eyes and wait until I drift of to sleep. It's hard though because I would always find myself thinking of things like a new design or something that would keep me from sleeping. It's like my eyes are sleepy but my brain isn't. It's horrible. I've also read in more than one article that exercising before sleeping would keep one from sleeping well, but I find it quite the opposite. Whenever I do back exercises (I have scoliosis), I find that I drift off to sleep faster, because I feel sort of tired, but it's not a bad kind of tired feeling, more just very relaxed. I also have trouble getting back to sleep after having awakened in the middle of the night. I get really irritated when this happens and this usually robs me of even more sleep. However, if I have enough presence of mind to do back exercises instead I fall back to sleep faster.

If I HAVE to sleep but I can't then I just keep on trying - then I'll get frustrated then I'll find it even harder to sleep and I'll end up terrible in the morning :D But if I have all the time in the world and have no particular concerns the following morning, then I'd just get up and surf the net or eat something :D That should relax me enough to help me sleep. I get ticked off. LOL! Sometimes I will go back downstairs and curl up on the couch. For some reason I can sometimes fall asleep on the couch when I can't fall asleep in bed. I think it has something to do with being sort of confined to laying on one side of my body and not being able to toss and turn.

If I can’t sleep at night I usually take a glass of hot milk, hope that it could make me to get to sleep easily. If I still can’t sleep I then switch on my computer to surf net or log on to mylot. I don’t watch tv as if I doing this I surely will wake up my hubby. You know the tv is in the bed room and the noise and the light could easily make him awake.

currently i will read books or surf the internet...listening to music is a wonderful idea. sometimes i am eager to go out to canter,but it's deep night,i am afraid...so i never go to canter in the mid-night...when all are done,i will feel tired ,then i will go to sleep very soon.
