yesterday was so beautiful,and today is horrible so far

why does this always happen,yesterday was such a beautiful day,and today well its a nitemare already.i have been up since 3am with my baby girl,she just seems to hate to sleep sometimes,anyway i decided to take my daughter to the couch and lay down with me,we were laying down all nice watching t.v. and all of a sudden yukon my cat came flying up on the couch and caught my eye with his nails,omg it hurt so bad.now my eye is all red and i can barly keep it open,because when i keep it open it starts to water,and if i close my eye it starts to water.i have such a headache from this and not sleeping.and ofcourse mommy cant yell at the cat,it wasnt his fault,he just wanted to cuddle.i think he knows he gave mommy a boo-boo though because he keeps coming by me and snuggling and licking me.so i might have to go and get it checked out now,hope its ok.i guess im gonna have to trim his nails again,i just did them a week ago but they grow so fast.i rather keep trimming them though so no one else gets hurt by accident.and believe me i will never get him declawed,no way,no how,NEVER.WELL TAKE CARE.pattie

Hi Pattie, Ouch that does hurt I've had it done to me before from my cats... I noticed someone said to see a doctor, I know they won't give you anything for it being so close to your eye at least when it happened to me they didn't.. It did clear up on it's own and healed as well... I hope things do get better for you.. Yesterday was a horrible day I mean ha ha I burn a ham and cheese sandwich..lol

well today I should make a better one and be able to burn the ham... But I don't have any ham left now.. LOL I had it the rest for supper last night.. When I get more I'll make you one... LOL...

well its alot better now and the reddness is gone and its not tearing anymore,thank god.and that headache is gone too.so its clearing up now and i had some med to put on it.take care.i will have a ham and cheese sandwich please,but dont burn it lol.pattie

OUCH ... just hurts to think about it, you might want to get it check out though, he he happened to tear your cornea it won't heal with medicine. One good thing on your side is the eye is one the fastest healing parts of our body and within a day or two you should be feeling some relief, but I would be sure to put a patch over that eye to let it heal for a few hours and then deduce whether you need to see an eye doctor over it

yes im gonna get it checked out,man it hurts though.i feel like something is in my eye.the watering part is the worst because if i keep it open it waters,and if i keep it closed it waters.thanks so much and take care.pattie

I scratched the cornea of my eye once, they make you put this gel antibiotic on the eye, keep it closed with a patch and they said dark rooms were always best since the light can hurt your eye more.

oucchh... that must be really hurt... i feel for you that you are having such a bad day today... life is full of ups and downs and we just have to accept it... that is the reality of life... i have my bad times as well... better have your eyes checked because eyes are very important... hope you are alright... take care...

thanks for the kind words and yes its much better today,the eye headache is gone,the reddness is almost gone and i dont feel like something is in my eye anymore.i got med for it.thank you so much for your concern my friend.pattie

Poor Yukon probably thinks that he's going to be in trouble for life, even though you've been reassuring him. I'm sorry your day has been so rotten hon. You'd better get your eye looked at soon, if you haven't already. That scratch could cause some major problems down the line. I'm glad you're not getting Yukon declawed. A friend of mine had that done to both of her cats. Then, when she told me that she was planning on having their back claws taken off too, I told her that if she did that I was calling Animal Control and reporting her for abuse. I'm glad your baby is going to be safe from that kind of torture. They have these little claw covers at places like Petsmart, or in some of the pet stores. They are supposed to protect people and furniture from scratches from kitties. Maybe you could look into that. At any rate, good luck with your eye hon. I hope your day gets better. Hugs!

thanks for the kind words,my eye is getting better,i have eye med to put on it and thank god that terrible eye headache is gone too.yukon is doing great and hes just a love to have.no i would never do that to my poor baby,its brutal to me when people do that to their cats,it takes away from them.take care hon.hugs.pattie

Awwww...I'm sorry you've had a bad day. It does suck when you have a really great day, and then the next one is crappy. It kills the good day high. I hope your eye is okay! That sounds like it hurt pretty bad. Was it directly on your eyeball? When I had a cat, her claws were the worst thing. I hope tomorrow is better for you.:)

why thank you very much.today is much better and my eye is better.i got medicine to put on it and all the reddness and the eye tearing is going away,and that majore eye ache is gone.wow it really did hurt but he was just showing love.pattie

Ouch - my Wilby did that to me once - and I know how painful it can be. Best get it checked out to be on the safe side - eyes are so precious. And I'm glad you won't consider getting Yukon declawed. That is such a disgusting and barbaric practice, and I'm just so glad that it's illegal here in Europe. Hope your eye gets better soon.

I was wondering, why don't you get a scratching post? Then your cat can scratch there and not use the furniture or you as a potential scratching post.
Yukon could have done serious damage and since you were probably up all night with the baby, it would be better than having maybe going blind in one eye. You should not get him declawed as the cats have those claws for protection.

yukon just jumped on the couch and by accident his nail caught me,it wasnt his fault he just wanted to cuddle with me.i would never get him declawed,to me that is so brutal and takes away from the cat.he does a scratching post that he uses all the time and he never scratches on my furniture.hes a great cat.

I am sorry to hear what had happened to you. I think it is hurting you so much. How do you feel right now? We can't predict what will happen next. So, be it good or bad, happy or sad, we need to accept it. Sometimes it is just hard to accept the truth and I could understand that very well too. Well I had a horrible day yesterday and today hasn't been horrible yet, with the exception of waking up at 4 am but I got back to sleep so it was ok.
I hope we aren't parallel and I have good days when you have bad! hope your eye is ok. You should get it checked out because you don't want an infection and thing of what those claws have been in!

oh that really hurts! my dog done that to me before but its not his intention to do it..he is just longing for me because i left 10 hours to work and he miss me..but it hurts so bad and the scratch had scared lightly..my eyes sore so bad and it all turned red..good thing it was you he jump of not your little girl..go get it check so it can be treated if ever..

Do not think so. As it is said today is a nice gift God sends to everybody, isn't it? Yesterday was beautiful,today is beautiful and tomorrow will be beautiful too. Think about the ones who have not got enough food and have to face wars, we are very happy. Cheer up!
