It is hard for me to pick a favorite soup. I love soup! I will make French Onion soup all year round, and chili. During the colder months I make cream of broccoli soup, potato soup, corn chowder, beef stew, and chicken noodle soup. I sometime eat tomato soup out of a can. I have never made tomato soup from scratch. Now that I am done replying to your discussion and looking at all the soups I make, I think I would have to say that French Onion soup with crusty bread and Gruyere cheese is my favorite. How do you make cheeseburger soup?

Chicken noodle soup is very good. I make mine by cooking a chicken on the stove top in a pan of water until the chicken falls off the bones. I pull the chicken out and let it cool some. Then I take the chicken off the bones. I strain the water to get out any skin of bones left in the water. Let the water cool and skim off the fat. This will be your broth. Heat the broth back up and toss in chopped carrots and celery. Cook until tender. While that is cooking I cook some wide egg noodles in a separate pot. Combine the drained noodles with the bro9th, carrots, and celery. Toss in the chicken that you prepared earlier. Mix and season with salt and pepper to taste. You can also use chicken broth out of a can and skip most of the other stuff, but if you have the time doing it completely from scratch is awesome.

Hot Soup - Hot bowl or cup of soup in the fall and winter months warms the corner of ones soul
First off here is a site that has a recipe for molo soup. http://www.geocities.com/mazzetis/recipestips/rec_molo.html I love a hot bowl of soup in the fall and winter months. I think my favorites have to be baked potato soup and broc and cheese soup. My husband makes a very tastey soup with veggies and hamburger. I thought hamburger veggie soup eeeewwww but it was yummy.

I was a distirbuter for UNILEVER's 20+ varieties of soups. At that time we used to have soup every alternate day. We are vegetarians and hence choice is limited to 4 or 5 varieties: Sweet corn veg., Vegetable soup, Hot and Sour Vegetable, etc. Now that we have to buy the packet, we have it once a fortnight in the evening along with bread sticks or sometimes before the dinner. Soup is really a great appetrizer.

I don't really have a recipe for most of the soups I make... mostly its 3c. of water, a package of onion soup mix for the base, then look to see whats in the refrigerator. Even veg that is looking a little tired is fine for a soup pot. Leftovers are great, though I save things like macaroni and cheese or cooked rice for the end to just heat through. If you think of something raw that you forgot to add, microwave it for 5 minutes and throw it in...
