Learning something new everyday

I believe you should try to learn one new thing everyday. Even if it's as simple as a new word or maybe a recipe you get...just something to keep on learning. Today I learned from the exterminator who was spraying at work that adult fruit flies only live one day. That means they have to do a life time of reproducing, having fun, eating all the treats they can find or just hanging out over a banana in 24 hours. I actually have them in my bathroom sink hovering over toothpaste leftovers. A simple solution is baking soda a vinager down the drain and kill the new little ones and your problems are over. Did you learn anything new today?

I learned that the main way to fix a lacerated eye lid, is not with stitches, but with glue. But not common glue, sterilized glue.

Super glue would sure mend a laceration. I know it held my fingers together not too long ago. HAHAHA!!

I agree with u on this. Since i have work on this company, i think i got learn new things everyday becauce only handle the accounting matters, i will try solve the problems that i faced when i met it. Then i know the solution and the best way to solve it. But if i really do not know how to solve it, i will seek the opinion from other colleagues which in other fields.

That's a cool trick and good advice! We have a calendar that has a new word to learn every day. My b/f loves to learn new words. He's good with big words...LOL.

I usually learn a new word or something each day. Actually, I learn a lot every day - I am a tutor, and the kids are constantly in need of help with different things, some of which requires them to memorize facts.

I do crossword puzzles in a couple different newspapers. This helps me add to my vocabulary daily. It's not easy and I seldom finish any of these puzzles. But I do learn new words. This is how I learned what an "aglet" is. I learned today that the thyroid actually helps to warm the body. learned that on a show about tribal rituals really. Go figure. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Wow.... and what channel was that on? Discovery? My son watches that all the time or the history channel and he is like a sponge adsorbing all kinds of details. Good for you...Bob!

Yes this is a very good belief to have. I think it's good to always read and learn new things everyday and always better yourself. Remember knowledge is power, and the pen is mighter than the sword.

I know my grandmother use to say that saying a lot and I agree we should all at least try to learn something new everyday. Weather it be a word out of the dictionary or something else. But most of the time it can be from someone talking to you and you have no idea what someone said then they tell you so thats learning something new a day.
