how do you conceal your true feelings?

i have a problem with my eyes. i think they're too expressive because most people can tell right away how i'm feeling. most of the time, my eyes can just give away the truth in me, which i find intensely disturbing because there are some people whom i don't want to know about me. no matter how hard i try to conceal how i'm feeling or what my mood is by acting normal or acting differently, my eyes always give away how i truly feel - and people can tell. can i change my eyes' expression? should i need to practice often? how can i hide everything i want to hide without people, particularly my friends and family, noticing or knowing that i'm lying or what?

if you really want to hide something start thinking of something which is not related to the topic and which you don't mind telling others it will definatelly help you.

Hi Dianebcrs, I had a problem like yours whe I was younger, and my mum told me to practice thinking of a color which I was associating with "secret". In my case the colot associated with "secret" was dark blue. So any time I was with other people and they posed a question that I wanted to give a reply to, but keep it a neutral one they were not able anymore to read more from my eyes than what i was saying ;) This was a big step forward for me, and I hope it will work for you too. Just choose a color and think of the colr, see the color the moment you wish to conceal your thoughts from others ;) TheFortunes

Thank you Diannebrc and Toni, it works for me, and if you give it a try you'll see how esy it becomes once you get used to :) It works for everything when associating a color with a thing, such as: secret = dark blue, happines = orange, relaxing = green etc . Good luck and let me know about your progress :) TheFortunes

Its nice actually that your feelings can be seen in your eyes, because now a days people resort to lying and pratising such unfair means and concealing the truth too, its unlike the earlier days when everything could be read in ones eyes alone as well. I wonder why you want to hide or conceal the truth, as if you are a true person, you should not fear or hide the truth and just let people know about it? I can understand maybe you are facing this problem sometimes, whn you want to hide thiongs or feelings from people whom you dont know, maybe you can wear spectacles of no power, and not look the person directly in the eyes, you can try this out instead, in order to conceal the true feelings. But if you try to hide your eyes from your family or friends that maybe tough, and i think you should be just yourself and peopple will accept you for what you are, let the truth be revealed thropugh your eyes, whats the harm and these family and friends already know you well enough and will not cause you hurt or harm, no harm trying or then maybe you can use the specks or indirect contact method.

Oh dear, I am never good at telling a lie at all. I always fumble and am so transparent that I would really hate telling a lie or just to conceal something like some information to someone. I think, it's not even the eyes that give it away. It is, I think, not looking into their eyes that long, like shifting your gaze to another thing just so you could avoid locking into the eyes of someone you are lying to.

Hello there. I find it difficult to conceal my true feelings too. I tend to be very forthright and when I am happy/excited/sad/unhappy/angry, it shows on my face obviously (especially my eyes too). Due to this, my friends trust me as they know that whatever emotions I am showing is real. I think that's a good thing. =D

Sometimes I really admire the ones that tell lies without blinking.I found myself blushful when telling lies.

i think those people have observed you critically and known your facial expressions. those are your close friends and you've those expressions naturally. indeed you can change but they would observe you as well as before to know the meaning of those expressions on your face or through your eyes. this is because the feeling comes naturally and your body reacts naturally to your emotions. maybe you can conceal but not for a long time and they'll get to know the truth shrtly.

Your eyes may be expressing it. But I think everything is their in mind. One has to be really strong to conceal the true feelings. You must think yourself that whatever may be, I'll not let it reveal on my face. this way you can control.
