You didn't say how old the cat was or what breed. If he's a baby, or if he's previously been with a companion, then he may be missing his mom or friend. It generally takes a couple/three weeks for them to adjust to their new homes. Try playing more with the cat & distracting him in other ways. given time and your nearly there, he'll adjust. Now, if he's a Siamese or Siamese mix, they are noisier than the adverage cat, and he may just be telling you about everything he's thinking off, what he's done today & critiquing the service. LOL

Hahaha...you certainly have a trying time. But what do you expect the cat to say other than meow? I too look after some stray cats and all they do is meow all the time. Sometimes, I wish there was a book to teach us to understand a thousand different ways for cats to say meow, and what each way of saying it means. Then we will better appreciate what the cat is trying to communicate with us. Maybe this cat is not that familiar with you, and is missing something, so is trying to say something to you, only that you can't understand its one-word vocabulary. Perhaps give it more time to bond with you, and it may quieten down and only meow when necessary. Don't be too frustrated...cats can be quite lovable. Just treat them with tender loving care. All the best with your cat.

...He may just be a talkative cat. How old is he? Is he newly separated from his mother cat? Do you play with him during the day? Is he allowed to sleep with you? It maybe a matter of his biological clock needing to be reset to how your faimly functions. ...My first suggestion is to play with him. My first guess is that he is bored. Drag a piece of string slowly across the floor in front of him. It helps to tie a piece of paper on one end so it has more movement. Open a paper bag, place the opening facing him and scratch the outside of the bag where he cannot see your hand. He will likely dive into the bag. Continue to scratch the bag in different places. ...My cats will run after balled up pieces of paper and bat them around. One of my cats like to be tossed across the room onto the back of the cough. Yes, I pick him up and through him! He love it. The two females that I have would rather play in a bag or box and chase the string. ...They are all different, so you have to try a variety of things if the first try doesn't work. If you will answer the questions I posed, I may be able to make some more suggestions. ...Good luck and let us know if any suggestions work. Have a purrrfect day and peace be with you. =(^;^)= Della
