A personal message to anyone asking me for a referral. How do you feel about it

I have been on the internet for a lot of years and have hit just about every money making site there is and check out the new ones that come up. I'm already a member of most of them so pm'g me to join your downline is useless. I prefer not to ask people to join sites under me and that includes friends and family. I realize that having a huge downline is the way to earn money on the internet but my way is working for me and I'm not about to change it. I'm not looking to get rich here only supplement my income to help me survive. I don't want to have to worry about the people under me being active so I can make a few pennies. It's not worth it to me. Go ahead, bash me for not wanting to earn hundreds of dollars a month. I can take it but I don't really give a big sh**!My point is PLEASE DON'T SEND ME REFERRAL LINKS. I don't appreciate them and won't do it for the reasons mentioned above. Does anyone else get pm's with links for referrals? Do you appreciate it or not? I'm sure most just let it go but first thing this morning that's what is in my messages and it just set me off.

I see referral e-mails as spam. And I delete " friends" that send me spam.

I get private messages all the time with links to several different sites. I've also had ppl add them to my comment page...that really annoys me. I just delete the messages and the comments and move on but yeah, I wish ppl wouldn't do that. It's really annoying. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I can certainly understand where you are coming from, ctry. I know that many people do not appreciate receiving these referrals, myself included. If I were interested in joining more sites I would probably ask someone that I knew for a referral. I will occasionally get links from someone on myLot, but I try to always politely decline. I just don't have the energy it would take nor do I know more than a couple of people who are online personally. You should not feel badly, at least you are being honest.

Yes! Actually someone asked to be my friend two days ago and yesterday sent me a pile of referral links. I deleted her as a friend. I will not join under anything that has given me unasked for referrals. I am like you and don't do the referral stuff at all. It seems just as much work as doing it myself really. Jumping all over the web trying to get people to join spamming and stuff is yucky. I wish people would not send me referral links either. I have done many online money making things and I am not fooled by the you can make hundreds of dollars a month junk. Annoying for sure.

Oh, I believe there is a lot of money to be made but I don't want to spend ALL of my time on the internet and don't want to bother or buy referrals the way some people do.

Hi Ctrymuziklvr, and I agree with you on this. PLEASE, do not send me PM's with referral links, ever :) If I write you a PM ASKING to be reffered than please, yes, do send me your link. This is how it works and should work for everyone. Refrain from promoting your affiliate links unless you are asked to do so. This is not MySpace or StumleUpon, as on these two everyone is doing it :) TheFortunes

I got your point. Okay, hope people here who will read your topic will not send you referral link anymore. Just ignore the message if you don't want it. And continue posting and replying. Have a nice day ahead of you!

lol - I get tons of people who say they got my addy from my website that clearly says join me at ca****te and they send me their link to ca*****te. *rolls eyes* okeedokee... I don't get frustrated anymore... but I do wish they'd pay attention rather than just mass mailing people. Plus, what really bugs me is people who aren't having *any success at all* on the same sites are trying to build their referral base - and can't do anything to help their downlines because they don't even know how to make money at it. Then all the referrals end up on the various forums going "what the heck am I doing wrong???" oops... sorry... different rant...

I too have many sites that I have joined..I hate when I constantly get referral links..I couldnt do it myself..I would feel really rude..I would not send out referral links unless the person actually asked for it..

I've gotten a few. And I've joined one or two, and didn't regret it. But for the most part, if it's from someone I don't know, I politely tell the person that I'm not interested, and that if getting a referral is the only reason for adding me as a friend, then UN-ADD me. And it works too!

I don't think mylot approves of anyone doing that. I have had a few to PM me right off the bat after me accepting their friend request or they approving mine. And it really does bother me, I'm like is that all you wanted friends on mylot for? They are wasting their time with me, b/c I usually just delete it. I've tried other sites and have never made more than a buck or two. More on mylot than anyplace else. But I'm on here more for the fun, b/c I am not really making that much money anyway. Good discussion :)

I get a few in my emails and or mail on mylot and sometimes I take a look at it and other times I just delete them. They use to bother me when people would add me as their friend and then start spamming my comments with referrals. Those ones I have deleted. Now I only get one or two every so often so it doesn't bother me. I just delete delete and delete LOL

Yuwie ref links are getting spammed through the message system A LOT these days, and its really really annoying me now. Im thinking about reporting them right and left and with no regard. Spam is spam, and isnt allowed on most sites that offer you downlines. Its usually even a reason for having your account terminated. I do not want unsolicited mail in my emailbox, and much less in my message box on a forum.

It does get confusing when you have so many people pm't you and you get the email saying your friends have posted a message. You think you have a discussion to respond to and are let down when you don't. We can't let these referral links over come us. Just because they are on our friends list doesn't give them the right to think we will join a site under them.

hi ctry, I guess I must be lucky! i have not had too many referrals, but I am thankful. I understand where you are coming from. You have made your choice so now, just delete them and forget about it. Don't let that little thing ruin your day. You have the power to say "NO". Just push the button and delete it. OH, don't forget to smile and yo do this, it feels so good!!! Happy poating..

Yeah ctry, I get them all of the time. I treat them like I do telemarketers, most of the time I just hang up. But every once in awhile I am having a bad day, and my stress limit is pushed to the edge and they end up being my punching bag. I really lower the boom, both on the phone and in a PM. You really risk a chewing out when you send me one.

Ha! Goodness, sounds like you're getting quite a bit, lol. I don't get so many I'm ready to pull my hair out just yet, lol. But I can understand your frustration. I get them from time to time and I usually just delete them or respond back, thankyou but I'm not interested. I will only e-mail someone some links if they ask me too or usually I will ask someone and they will send me theirs. Hopefully people will hear your point and those referral links to your message box will stop:)
