Friends,I was just wondering what you do to unwind or relax after a hard days work or, completion of a project/assignment.I like to pamper myself a little. After a hard days work,I like to have a refreshing bath and then laze out watching a movie or chatting with my daughters. But after a long assignment,I need something more.LoL.I buy a book or a music CD which is usually enough for me.But sometimes,I take some time off and like to go for a picnic or a vacation with my family. What way do you prefer to relax?

ah relaxation for me means to go and shop or watch a movie with your best friends. sometimes i like to just lie down on my sofa (it is a special one) and just allow my thoughts to wander. that sofa of mine oh god i call it a tranculizer. if i don't get proper sleep i just leave my bed and lie down on that sofa. surely i go to sleep in few minutes. isn't it great no need of medicines and after a good sleep i get up as fresh as a lovely flower.

well after a hard day of school..I lay down, put on some music and just lay on my bed. Nothing is better than that! Also from time to time watching some series is nice too... helps you from not thinking about other things!

Sometimes I come to mylot; but not as much ..I take my vemmajuice and then simply put my feet up ..put on tvland ..watch leave it to beave or andy griffith and just relax. Prayer is how I start the day..which helps me start calmly and then I end the day with prayer.. If I am really wound up ..I try to get real quiet and ask for God's help.

what i want to do is to have a good sleep. I am a teacher of senior middle school, but my job is very tiring. From Monday to Sunday i nearly have spare time. Now it's time for me to go to the evening class. The tiredness is endless......

Considering your schedule, sleep seems to be the best method to relax. One day in a week should be taken off,or it could tell on your health.I know its easier said than done, but one can atleast try to find some alternative.Till then, happy sleeping !!

My house is near the beach. I've always enjoying walking on the beach or just sitting on the sand watching the waves. Eventhough I worked in the hotel which is on the beach and I enjoyed the view everyday, I never get bored.. If things become too stressfull or after a long assignment, I'll go to the spa.. Well that is the nicest thing of living in Bali, spa is cheap. With approximately USD 10-15 you'll get pampered for 2,5 hours of massage, body scrub and milk bath.. That is relaxing...

Sounds like me—A nice hot bubble bath is my favorite way to relax at home- I also love to get manicures and pedicures- My daughter loves to also- so we do this together—pampering! Walks at dusk—or after dinner to look at the changing leaves now is calming- and a great way to wind down your day! A lot of times to wind- down we cuddle on the couch and read- then when she goes up to bed- my sig. other and I cuddle and watch tv- or talk about the day!

My husband and I have been married for 29 years next week. We still try to go on one date a week. We dont spend money most of the time on these dates. We just spend quality time together. This is a great way for me to reduce stress. It reminds me that I am not alone in this crazy world. I also enjoy music to relax me as well

As my way to relax, I just lay down on the bed and think of my kids and the things taht i want to do with my life. I sometimes think how fun it will be this coming christmas. But sometimes I just watch a good show and spend most of the time laughing or crying depending on what I was watching. I also go outside for a walk but it would be for 30 minutes or less.

Best way of relaxing for me is watching our cricket team win world cups ,but considering that it doesn't happen every other day I have to pick a more regular one ,lol.Yes,drowning myself in a good book is a great way and something I too love doing.A nice movie is also a good option.Even hanging out with close friends at our favorite joints is something I look forward to doing during weekends and sometimes, the primeval process of a good nap does it for me :-)

Great to see you too!:)Yeah,I have noticed that she too has got busy. You are right. At the beginning of the T20 WC I would have laughed out at the possibility of India winning the World cup ,maybe not at reaching the semifinal. That I was expecting, but not getting past Australia with the big names missing.Well, yes,Aussies are almost invincible in the 50-50 format, but I am not betting on a clean sweep ,at least not if there aren't any more washouts.

Hey bluewings, good to see you.You and your young friends have gotten too occupied of late.Nice to see you all broadenning your hemisphere.:) Ah!! Cricket did give me too some continuous exhilerating moments in T20 matches. It was just too good to be true.Seemed kind of magical spell bestowed upon by some supernatural force.Lol.No,not saying that they are not capable of doing it on their own.But if your long treacherously dreadful absence of any expectations meets such electrifying treat to the eye,one does tend to think the way I did.:D Today's 76/0 made me switch off the TV and log onto Mylot. So you know what I mean. Yes,drowning in a book, surfing on a movie and breathing peacefully afloat a good nap sure does the trick.Good choice there....

All I ever do these days is relax - a trip to the Supermarket is a marathon struggle that leaves me exhausted - as soon as I get well getting back to work will probably seem as good as all the holidays and picnics people could have put together! I know that sounds crazy but believe me when you have months of enforced rest you just wantg to get out there and do things! xxxx

I read; listen to some music, watch a movie I want to see, say a prayer do some pampering(some are becoming rituals), some foot care. I love to hit the flea market when I can. I also go shopping if the funds are there. I also enjoy looking at some of my artwork that I'm building a collection of. I enjoy some Pepsi or mixed kool aid. that helps too

Annie Lee's Steeping and Soaking - found during a window shopping stance. Annie Lee is one of the foremost African American artists today.
I thought I mentioned the bath; can't unwind without the bath. I have a nice collection of bubble bath, bath salt, depending on mood and what's going on with me, as well as epsom salts for the days I am just too tired. Then with a nice drink, some incense, some oils and music, I am set.

One of my favorite ways to relax every night is to take a nice hot bath by candlelit and have incense buring---I now have the bathroom decorated a little Halloween-y, with pumpkin shaped candle holders that I have at each corner of the tub, then nice Halloween candle decoration on top of the toilet tank...with fake fall leaves and everything..really makes it nice and festive looking. After my bath I plop in a DVD movie and watch for awhile, then snuggle into bed and read until I get sleepy..that is if my cat Pyewacket allows me to read...he seems to think reading is boring and likes to sit on my book! LOL

Just loved your answer.Have a great Halloween.I wish we got such variety here too.My younger one was asking me to carve pumkins.I wish I could do it in a great manner. To have pumpkin shaped Halloween candles is even great.I'm sure with every celebration season, you must be having great creative ways to manifest your feelings.I'm imagining how you would do it during Christmas time.:)

Some of the ways I relax are through meditation, yoga, deep breathing, dancing and singing. I also lot to soak in our bubble jet tub with a combination of Epsom Salts, bubble bath and essential oils. I light candles and incense, put on some calming music and sink into the tub and just let all the tension melt from my body/mind and spirit. I also enjoy listening to music, playing with our 2 dogs and 5 cats. Spending an evening with them and my hubby watching television and snuggling is another favorite thing to do. Paying role playing computer games is surprisingly relaxing to me. As a writer, life coach and group leader my mind is always buzzing with ideas and communicating them. Role playing games transports me to another place and time and I become so absorbed that everything else is out of my mind. I love going to the beach, chatting with friends, laughing, gardening, reading. Sitting around an open campfire and watching the stars is another calming thing. I could go on...but that is lots for now! Time to take a breather and say...ahhhhhhhhh. Cheers, Raia

Reading your response reminded me of the song 'These are a few of my favourite things', from the movie,"The Sound of Music". I love the lyrics and the melody.Similarly ,I loved your choice too.

A bath is one of the best ways to relax, a massage will do wonders too if it's done properly.

after a week of work, it is really nice to relax. every weekend, i relax by going on dates with my husband. we'd usually just go to the mall to watch movie and dine out. every year, we also make sure that we go on an out-of-town vacation to just relax and visit new places we haven't been to.

If I have done a lot of things lately, I usually go shopping and buy myself something that I really want like an expensive dress that I have been dreaming of. I consider it as a gift for myself after doing a lot of things. But usually, I take a long drive out and listen to my favorite music as I drive along. I also go to beaches and have some fresh air there. Of course, I spend those times with my love ones. Having a vacation to a place that I want to go is another option as long as my budget allows me.
