Do you send birthday cards to everyone in your family? To your friends?

Birthday cards to select few! - Happy Birthday card

I can't tell you how many times I've bought a birthday card and forgotten to send it! All good intentions are there but it happens more times than I like to admit. I think the only person who definitely gets a card from me every year without fail is my 82 year old mom. Since there is nothing that can be bought for her she really does enjoy the birthday cards. This year I sent her one that when you open it plays "roll out the barrel"...a very old song from her time and she was so thrilled with it she called people on the phone and played it for them...lol...that was better than anything anyone could have given her for a gift. I also usually remember to send my granddaughter a card especially if there isn't going to be a birthday party where I can just hand it to her. I know how much she enjoys them and my daughter has been keeping all of her birthday cards since she was a year old! Do you send birthday cards to your family and friends? Do you feel bad when you forget?

I think just as long as we remember our family that's what counts.

I have to remind myself like the month before to get them a card a gift. Sometimes I'll also send them an E-Card if they are online just to brighten their day. I am really forgetful about buying cards though. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

My mother has the right idea. She buys cards at the beginning of the year, signs and addresses them. Then she writes the dates on her calendar so she never forgets. I've thought of doing this but never do.

i have been buying birthday cards and forgetting to send it too. it's either i miscalculated the date or because i was busy days before the bday that i forget to mail it as well. so far, i always make sure that i send a xmas card to my friends abroad. through out the years we get in touch through emails and phone calls but it is still different when they receive a card.

It's very funny! Today I found a Mother's Day card that I didn't send. I know I gave her one so I must have bought another one and forgot I had this one...lol...well now I have next years!

I was doing it until a few years ago and than I stopped with it. Now I only send it to my closest people, like my parents and relatives. T friends I only send e-cards and that is all about it. I am not sure how exactly this happened, but it did, and at times I feel bad about it, but this is life I guess. If you dont get it - no reason to send it, is it? TheFortunes

That was really nice story with your mum and taht card.It is so nice and I am happy she enjoyed it that much.I am not buying that much birthday cards, since all my friends are at school and they come home maybe one a month. So they would recieve it late anyway. But I am sending them card by email adress and there you can put nice picture and songs too.And also when I find out that they have birthday today, they will still recieve it on time, so no rush to the post office. But I love to send cards from the cities where I travel to my grandmother.I always send her one, when I go somewhere and she enjoy it so much.Last time I talk to her and she tell me she so glad she has such a good grandchildren. It makes me happy too.

I think e cards are the best thing that's happened to us pc'ers! For those that have a pc we have no reason to forget them do we?

I have to admit, ctry, that I have grown very lax when it comes to sending any type of greeting cards to family members and friends. I don't know why this is so considering it has always been a priority with me. I have cards from my kids since they were small that I have saved. I always sent my mother birthday and Mother's Day cards, and sometimes Christmas cards. When I was growing up sending out cards was the thing to do. We always did this. I guess for some of us many of the traditions have fallen by the side of the road.

I think the high cost of postage has stopped a lot of people from sending cards. I know Christmas cards are seldom received from me!

If someone in my family or friends get birthday, i usually just send e-card or sms. Because now, i live abroad far from my own family. But for family from my husband, we always sent birthday cards for them. Sometimes, we just call them "happy birthday".....^_^

Well, for me, I seldom send the Card out to my Friends or Family members, I would rather call them or drop them a visit if any possibility. It must be good for one to send or receive a birthday card nowadats now that people seldom send the mails via Post Office. I hope I could start to send the cards to my family or friends in future. I used togive birthday cards to my friends for their birthdays, as you said when you go to the party and hand the card to them. Since I am far from home, and most of my friends, what I usually do it is to send an email, and e cards, just call the and wish them a Happy Birthday...

I have never send my parents any greetings card. However, I have always made sure to send cards to my sisters and more recently to my neices. It feels great to see the twinkles in their eyes. On birthdays, I would rather prepare some sweet dishes (according to our custom) and would give it to my parents. My mom loves sweets and I love to prepare it for her. But, nowadays, I have curtaied on it due to health factor. smiles...

I don't remember how long I have not sent cards to anyone. Since I gratuate from college, I didn't send cards to anyone but send message all or make a call instead. It would be bad if I forgot to send the message. If I had time I would prepare a present and join the birthday party.
