Well, I guess it depends on where you live and what the weather is like, and, what you like to do, lol! Here's a few suggestions: Wrap up some sandwiches, snacks, etc., and go on an old fashioned picnic. Take a walk in the park and surround yourself with nature. Pop some popcorn, rent a really good spooky movie, and snuggle up together. If you have a license, go fishing...all you need are worms, or find a free fishing hole, no license required. Go to a neighborhood flea market and only take a few bucks with you......find some fun cheap items that you like. Pitch a tent in your backyard and sleep outside. Check online and see what's happening in your area...or find some fun garage sales to check out. Go to an afternoon movie show, it's cheaper. Go to the beach, pack a lunch. I dunno....those are my thoughts, haha,......... have some fun just being together!

HaHa,...I only like fishing because of the nature surroundings and just sitting on a dock relaxing in the sun. I'm a catch and release person, I only do it for fun. Your answer sure made me laugh though.....hope you enjoy your weekend no matter what you do!

My husband and I tend to go to the park and pack some sandwiches and drinks, even if it is a thermos full of kool-aid hahaha! We take the kids and have a good time. Sometimes if we have hot dogs and stuff we grill at the park too. Depending upon how broke we are. I don't know how far you are from the beach, but that is a good option as well. Those are my suggestions, hope you find something fun to do with little money this weekend!

my hubby and i are trying to pay off debt, so we have been trying not to spend money lately. SO, we find ourselves in this same predicament. (sp?) (: ANyways, we have found some of the most simple things, to be the most fun. We always wake up and make a huge breakfast, then we'll take the kids to the park, and let them play for a bit. Then we like to go to petco, as they always have interesting animals there for the children to play with and see. We will walk around a bit and look at some stores we haven't been in... or go for a drive... i'm sure your kids would love to go for a picnic.. you could buy some kites (or make them if you really can't afford it) and fly them weather permitting. If you live near an ocean you could look for shells. I have found that if you are excited about something, your children will usually follow suit. Also, look up online for a park you haven't been to in your area, i'm sure your kids would enjoy playing at a new one, or find some local hiking trails, most children love the thrill of new discoveries.

There is the park, a free museum, the beach. You can always go visit someone, just to get out of the house. Have a pinic/lunch at the park and let the kids go run and play. Get some board games going, do a puzzle, or play fun outside games. Go window shopping for things you might want to purchase for Christmas. It is never too early to start getting ready for the holidays. Well, hope you can come up with something interesting.

We're on the same "broke" budget this weekend. Check out some of the local community calendars online. They often have listings about free activities going on around town. Our local PBS station is hosting a family fair tomorrow with many of the characters scheduled to appear. We're going to pack sandwiches and bottled water for a picnic. We're hoping for photos with Arthur, Bert & Ernie from Sesame Street and many others. We often rent movies from the library and have a family movie night with popcorn and other snacks. This one doesn't cost anything unless I forget to return them on time! Don't forget to also check around at some of the local churches. Often they have free plays, classes or other activities on the weekends and you don't have to be a church member to attend. Enjoy the weather and have fun as a family!
