Having been made in the past could this be brought back for these modern times to stop the divorce rate being so high and maybe there could be a similar device for the men to wear on thier travels to keep the status quo. What do you think, a good idea?

No, I don't. I think that that would be an awful idea. The divorce rate is so high for many, many reasons, only one of those being infidelity. Divorces wouldn't occur so often if people married for the right reasons. If they actually got to know their partner and trusted them. If you don't have trust in a relationship, the relationship will fail, plain and simple. Making your partner wear a chastity belt would show that you don't trust the person that you're with. Well, if you don't trust them, don't be with them! It as simple as that. A chastity belt would undermine the relationship horribly. What ever happened to talking? If people would communicate with eachother, they would know early on whether their relationship is meant to be, whether they're compatible, whether they have what it takes to make their relationship work, etc. But no! Things are so messed up these days that we have to come up with ideas like this, which is like putting a cast on a little scrape! There's a simple solution here, yet we apparently need something elaborate because people are just too lazy these days!

I think that because both sexes travel more and meet more people that they come across someone that is more compatable and there would like to swap thier so called love one for another.

That's my point! People rush into things without really defining their relationship. They just marry the first person that comes along that satisfies them and once they find someone better, it's off to them! If people would slow their relationships down and take the time to truly get to know each other, they'd know whether or not is was true love and if they're compatible.

Actually, I think if more ppl went back to having higher morals it would fix the problem. It used to be a disgrace and shameful to sleep around whether you were married or not and God forbid, if you were an unwed young woman that got "in trouble" (pregnant). These days it's a common occurance for young girls (and they seem to get younger all the time) to be pregnant and proud of it, often not even knowing who the father is. It's also common for married couples to cheat on each other...it's still frowned on but not near as much. Single women and men often sleep around before marriage and virginity isn't as big of a deal as it once was. I believe it's b/c as you hear of it happening more often it quits being a big deal. !!HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Yes times do change and lots of things change with the times. The word virgin before marriage is dimishing to be none existant as morals has been the biggest change each passing year.

i dont think the chastity belt will ever make a comeback lol. we live in very liberal times. we (speaking as a woman) would never allow such a form of control. at least i wouldnt. how much does it truly mean if the woman WANTS to cheat, but cannot..still means either way that she is not in love with you. personally i can see divorce rates going up if men who left home for business etc, decided to force their wives to wear a chastity belt. i would divorce my guy in a second if he demanded such a thing. but then again..the idea of somehow having one for men on their travels i like LMAO!! theres a double standard for you!
