Stress in inevitable and experts say that it is relative to ones perspective of circumstance. I'd like to know how you relieve yourself from any stressful situation and the activities that you do that most relaxes you.

This is true, Unpinoy. I love to go to saunas too but it's not cheap. Foot spa is also enough to make me relax in the absence of sauna, right? Going to the movie is also fun especially if it's a funny movie.

hey jemina, we got something in common...nice. oh yes, the foot spa is great!!!! in fact, you really have the feet made comfortable and pampered, it relaxes the whole body. and it is very healthy. it is said the everything is connected there just like the hands, those veins connected to our vital organs. now that reminds me for a foot spa session. can't wait. and the movies, my past time also, comedy films can really take us away from the worries of life. take care!

That's nice to know someone who has the same interest. By the way, is foot spa becoming common in the Philippines? Because here in Bangkok it's ubiquitous. For 150 baht an hour, you would be more than satisfied.

Going to sauna truly relaxes me. Going to my in-laws also relaxes me 'coz I can be in the countryside. They have a vast land overlooking the lake. I LOVE walking down to the lake, esp. in summer 'coz you can hear the birds chirping and some fireflies flying here and there. Other than that, I also like going out for a walk and enjoying nature. I also write a blog and that is VERY therapeutic for me. ;-D

I put on a good comedy to make me laugh, laughter for me is the best medicine. You probably haven't heard of One Foot In The Grave, it is a British comedy and is guaranteed to have me crying with laughter, no matter how many times I watch it, it's always funny. I also relax in a nice hot bath, with a glass of red and chocolate, guaranteed to destress me in an instant.

When stress hits I try and get out of the house and have a good walk, sometimes with the dog and if I can take it the kids as well. A good hot bath takes care of physical stress. And being able to stop thinking about things really helps so a good movie or book. Many times I'm not only stressed but also very tired, maybe overtired as sleep doesn't seem to come, that is when I need chocolate and a good movie, something that doesn't need me to think helps! Hope stress isn't getting to you!

I think the most useful method is to find out why you are stressed, then find a way out .you will find that it is not as difficult as you imagine in your mind.

I found that nothing relaxes you more than doing something you enjoy doing. Eg I enjoy typing and going on the internet. It takes my mind off what is giving me stress. Also talk about it to friends and family that helps also.

The thing that helps me relax the most is doing yoga from time to time. I don't do it as much as I should, but it feels great when I do. I also write. Writing helps me get things off of my mind and think certain things through and it's just very relaxing to get things on paper or the screen.

I relax by taking a short break from the problem before it gets so big that I need to take a long break, or detatch from it all togethe. A few times a week I go to The Second Cup for coffee and a sandwich, and I just sit there and read. I was thee tonight, reading for most of the evening.

It depends on what the stressful situation is and how stressful it is for me...Depending on those things though some activities that help would be - leaving the situation (for example if i'm in a social setting leaving and finding somewhere quiet to be alone) - Meditation - doing a hard workout - yoga - taking a hot shower or bath - aromatherapy just to name a few....

I am relaxed when I'm tending my plants. The verdant leaves and the varied hues of the flowers send a powerful, relieving sensation that calms my nerves. Another thing is collecting shells by the seashore. It makes me nostalgic of anything around me. It refreshes my weary mind and invigorates my exhausted soul.
