Are you the type that likes to try something new and different? My sister in law is totally a gourmet cook. She has even taken lessons in Italy on how to cook Italian. Sometimes she spends tons of money on one meal and sometimes they are very good.....other times I do not enjoy eating them and have actually become sick from all the spices or other ingredience. I enjoy cooking esp. when I am having company but mainly stick to home cooking. Like a good roast or meatloaf. Do you do both or stick to one kind of cooking?

I cook at home a lot too.I like to put my own spices there and just make some new receipt , just make it a little bit orgininal.i am not that kind of person who would stick strictly with receipt. But it looks like when I cook the people enjoy it, so I hope it is not that bad.I am trying sometimes also cook food like Italian or so but not very often, probably becuase I love food from my country.

I like the good old home cooking recipes. I am a meat and potatoes cook, love to put a roast in and smell it cooking all day. I make homemade soups, lots of oven meals (so it's done when I come in from working all day), homeade bread and of course, Italian Spaghetti with garlic bread and many other things. I occasionally try a "different" recipe and then I decide whether or not I will cook it again...either the recipe goes into my recipe box or the garbage can. I guess I am a home cooking nut.

Dear Jillhill, generally we do home cooking and eating. We go out to resturant once in a blue moon. In this resturant also we will get the same food as we cook in our home. We go out for resturant only for the change. We in India, and especially South Indian have standard item of food. Whether it is hotel or home we cook same kind of food. Most of the people belong to South India are purely vegetarian. 90% hotel provides of South India provides only vegetarian food and food items never differ between the hotels. All hotels will provide you same kind of food; of course, the taste may differ. I am staying in North India, here the hotels are run by South Indian. Therefore we will get only same kind of food as we cook in our house.

I do both. Usually I devise recipes during my day to day doings. I do like thinking of what dishes I've done and how to really put a twist on them. Or if there are ingredients I try to see what else I can do with them.
