If you are in school or at work, do you need to compete with somebody to push yourself harder or it cost you just a stress? I like to have competition. It motivate me to be better or as good as other person.

I am highly competitive. For me the stress would come from holding back from competition. But as I don't hold back, that is not a worry.

You need to compete only when your trying to proove a point to others.Compition is good to a certain extent as it keeps us alert and foccued.Too much compitance can give rise to unfair ideas and thoughts. When you feel you are doing a good job and want to do a good job you feel as if your not competing at all.

I agree that is a belief in some cultures, especially for women, but with all respect that is not true where I live. Here competition is regarded as healthy. It is encouraged and not considered a form of showing off.

I like to know that I am good at what I do... but I do not really need competition... I just do it because I want to do it good, and not because I want be better then other person... I just love what I do..

I think that wherever we work, there is a fierce competition around even if you don't have the desire to. Without competition, we can not make improvement in our work. Competition makes us better in everything.
