Update - Wisdom Tooth was Pulled out *OUCH!*

The first thing I did with my jobless vacation was going to the dentist *smiles*. I finally had my wisdom tooth pulled out but it was bleeding like h*ll yesterday since it was quite big and they had to have a deeper surgery cut. I ended up sleeping afterwards (and got bored laying on bed all the time). Now I am feeling better, still a little swollen. I can't really eat or talk that much *scared*, but I am thankful that I could still type around here, otherwise, I could remove myself from this earth *laughs*. What a crazy experience during the official first day of claiming to be unemployed!

Very smart of you to do this while you do not have to go right back to work. I rememeber it well, as I DID go right back to work, lol. Please rest and stay well. The worst part is over....

Right! I can't imagine having to stay at work and answer the phone the whole time, probably it would bleed again! Now I talk to no one *smiles*, it doesn't bother me that much but I don't want to move my mouth too much as I want it to take time to heal properly!

Oh really? They didn't tell me that! Then I have to remember that this week! Oh yes, lucky that I quited smoking before this thing, otherwise I think it's going to heal slow. Now my face is still swollen but seems that it's getting better.

Did they tell you not to suck on a straw because that might keep it from healing right? They told me that and I know you don't smoke (!) so we don't have that to worry about, but yes, you must rest!

I had the tooth next to one of my wisdom teeth removed which wasn't a nice experience either. My mouth was too small so they had to make an incision (which wasn't sedated) and that hurt so much! They couldn't reach it well so that made it even more painfull and agitating. My mouth was recovering for a long time, not even so much my jaw but the incision they made when stretching my mouth further than it could :S Tomorrow I have to go get my wisdom tooth on the other side of my mouth removed, it's lying allmost totally horizontal in my mouth and is jamming my other tooth out if I don't get there quickly. They made me waite from early september till now so I hope it hasn't done any damage so far as it's been a while... Take care!

I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed a long time ago because the tooth above it got broken when I bit down on a small piece of bone hidden in something. The dentist said the wisdom tooth would be disturbed by the work on the tooth above it and thus had to come out. The surgeon had to cut the tooth into pieces to get it out. I quit taking the pain medication they gave quite soon because it was making me feel paranoid but I have a high threshold for pain so I got by. Funny because of a broken jaw I have had work on several teeth over the remaining impacted wisdom teeth over the years, even having one pulled and had an implant, and those wisdom teeth were not disturbed and gave me no trouble. This leads me to believe that it was not necessary to remove the one that was taken out.

If my other wisdom teeth don't bother me, I wouldn't go do it again! I was absolutely fine throughout the whole thing except when I see the blood! Ah!

Wow, I hope you're feeling much better! I haven't had wisdom teeth out (yet) but I did have a back molar removed and to this day (2 years later) it still hurts but that dentist was an a$$ who had no idea what she was doing. Surely your dentist is a whole lot better and you'll be feeling great in no time.
