Your favorite TV Chef

I like watching cooking channels because aside from getting great ideas for my next food experiment, I am also entertained at the chefs that make the meals. My favorite would be Jamie Oliver, Mario Battali, Nigella Lawson, and Rachael Ray. I find the Iron Chef series quite interesting too. There is this reality-TV show called "Hell's Kitchen" -- with an equally potty-mouthed chef presiding the contest. Not a fan of this show, but I think it's worth mentioning. So who is yours? :-)

I admire the japanese iron chef morimoto. He uses jap cuisine and mixes it up with the flavors . It is exciting to cook with ingredients you like mix them up in your cooking in just the way you like it to be. The outcome can be very interesting. 8-)

Nice to know there are Iron Chef fans here. Yes, Morimoto is one of the best chef in this version. Everytime I watch the show, it makes me hungry ( ... and makes me wanna get Jap food quick!). Thanks for replying.

There's an American version of Iron Chef and it's hosted by Alton Brown. You'll enjoy it too if you like watching the Japanese version. Not familiar with the local cooking shows, but I'll try to catch them upon your suggestion. Thanks for replying. :-)

I am a Paula Deen fan. Alot of what she makes is what I was raised on. I can almost imagine my grandmother making some of the things that she makes. I watch all of them, but I like her the best. Another one that I like is Rachael Ray. She makes alot of interesting things. She names them quite well, also.

I'm not a professional cook/chef either. I just cook by instinct, so let's say I'm just a wanna-be chef. LOL (too bad for my unsuspecting victims a.k.a. family and friends). Yes, I also watch that show. The host is Curtis Stone. He used to be in another cooking show "Surfing the Menu." Thanks for replying! PS: Yeah, he's kinda cute. LOL.

Oh, it's so hard to pick just one TV chef. I think I am going to have to just list a bunch of my favorites. I love Alton Brown because of how much fun his show is to watch and he is not afraid to explain the science behind cooking. I love Mario Batalli as well because he takes the time to talk about all the different regoins of Italy and a lot of his recipes are things that my mother makes. I also like Jamie Oliver (his recipes are tasty and not too complicated), Nigella Lawson (because I believe she cooks and eats all those recipes she shares) and Lidia Bastianich (she is fun to watch and is quite serious about what she does).

Yes! Alton Brown is also one of the interesting chefs out there. I'd like to think of him as the food scientist amongst them. He had this show "Good Eats." I had fun watching that show.
