The Fish was Cold and Wet...the tale of the preschool's pet fish. FUNNY and SAD

This is the story as it was told to me by my son's preschool teacher. I thought it was worthy of being shared here...although if you have a soft spot for little boys who try to be sweet you might find the story more sad than funny. The preschool had 3 pet fish. Two are silver and one was gold. Yes, WAS gold as it no longer lives at the school. We'd rather say he is on vacation than tell where he really is now. The other day one of the little boys (not mine thankfully!) was worried about the little gold fish. He thought the fish might me cold and wet from swimming around in the fish tank all day. (I can here myself telling the kids to get out of the bathtub after they've been in there too long "You're cold and wet, you need to get out NOW") The little boy decided to help the little fish out by scooping him out and wrapping him in a tissue blanket so he would be warm and dry... The teachers found the very warm and very dry little gold fish and placed him back in the fish tank. They didn't want the little boy to know he'd killed the fish...but did tell him that the fish need to stay IN the water! So now the preschool has 2 silver fish, happily still cold and wet! Anyone else have any "difficult" pet/child stories like that?
