My puppy got fixed today and she is in a lot of pain right now. I feel like such a bad mom when she cries. She use to being very active and now she can't stand on her hind legs. She keeps forgettting and then she screams. I don't know how I'm going to keep her from jumping and running. She looks so very sad. Does anyone have any suggestions to keep her more comfortable?

Oh I know how you feel, I cried and cried when I had my Smokey cat fixed up I think the best thing you can do is just let your cat rest, maybe your vet could have given you a calming tablet for her, I know I got myself so upset and two later my Smokey was running around like nothing had happened, I hope your little baby picks up as quick....she will forget real soon...

I would call the vet for some pain medication because she's obviously in a great deal of pain. However you could try aspirin but because she's so tiny, I'd only give her a quarter of one. Definitely not a whole one but 1/4 of a tablet which should help alleviate the pain some and make it more tolerable.

The best thing to do for your little girl is to see if they can give you something to slightly sedate her for the day so she will take the time to heal. She is wanting to get up and do as she normally does and she can't and it is frustrating for her. She must be pretty unhappy right now. Poor thing. Well, I hope that helps, other than that, just stay close to her so she doesn't get the urge to move too much and she will come out of it in a couple of days. I had my dog fixed a long time ago and he was much the same way.

Hi, Poor baby girl. The vet should have given her something for pain before she left the surgery. If the pain doesn't settle down I would ring the vet and ask for some pain relief for her.
