Actually you need to know about BMI or Body Mass Index to get your ideal weight. Your weight value must convert into kilogram unit and your height into meter unit. BMI is weight over height square. Weight in Kg. and Height must be in Meter. The outcome value must be within 25 - 30. If above than 30 mean you are in OBESITY ZONE. The best ideal weight is at 25 value for BMI. For example for 5' 6" height, that you mentioned. The calculation will be like this. **************** 1 meter = 3.3 feet Your Height = 5' 6" = 5.5' / 3.3 = 1.67 meter. BMI reading is 25 for best ideal weight that reciprocates to your height. Your IDEAL WEIGHT is; = BMI X Height Square. = 25 X [1.67 X 1.67] = 25 X 2.7889 = 69.7225 or close 70Kg. So the IDEAL WEIGHT for 5' 6" person, regardless of male or female is 70KG. SEVENTY KILOGRAM. SO THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT that should be, will be; = 30 X 2.7889 = 83.667 and better make it as 83kg. ************* So please don't go above than 83 KILOGRAM. Because 84KG is your OBESITY ZONE.

The chart I just found says that for a woman with a small frame 120-133 lbs, for a medium frame 130-144 lbs, for a large frame 140-159 lbs. For a male small frame 136-142, medium frame 139-154, large frame 146-164.

I wish I had the small frame. I am 220 pounds and 5ft 6 inch. That falls under fat azz. Thanks so much. I am going for my seminar on the bypass this month. :)

It's not 180 pounds, but I recently saw one of those charts that went over the appropriate height to weight measurement. I don't know if there are any medical conditions to consider, but assuming someone is a healthy 5'6 female, they should weigh between 130-144 pounds. I wondered why they felt they needed to put 144 and not 145.

YOu could look for a body mass index calculator if you're looking for a healthy weight. :) Average seems to be a bit on the high side considering the obesity epidemic.
