I have wondered from first season if the heroes would have similar abilities to those x-men. I've heard some people say that it is a similar story told from a different angle. Well, I enjoyed the series and the some of the x-men comics and I don't care! It's a great series and I hope it lasts for awhile with new ideas coming in!

while both are fictional, heroes is more realistic than x-men. The only similarity, i think, is the struggle of having special abilities. Although this is not much of a question in x-men because characters here are more concern in their powers and how to use these powers to defeat the villains. In heroes, it's more on seeking answers and 'cure' to their abnormalities. The characters cannot be compared because there's no basis. As for nathan petrelli who can fly, there are a lot of characters in x-men who can fly. Well, most of the fictional stories of heroes have characters that can fly.

ok, i'll take that. guess i should phrase those questions properly. lol i was just thinking how similar their abilities/powers were. Then again, how much different can special abilities be? except for how they employ or demonstrate their powers.

Yeah, I think it has the same basis as x-men too, but I think that Heroes are better xD They feel more like normal people thrust upon unnormal circumstances and they don't always know what to do. And their characters are constructed better, they're more realistic IMHO.

True, and Heroes doesn't have all the cool hi tech stuff. So everything's really normal. I wonder how the 2nd season will go. Hopefully, we don't see x-men type abilities but more original ones. From the 1st episode, we're already seeing something different.

Well, the basis of powers evolving from genetic mutations in the DNA chain and that some people would fear those changes is more or less the premise of what started X-Men. As well, there are some powers that are similar to those of the X-Men as well(healing factor, absorbtion of powers, ice, radiation, flight), but heck, almost every form of power one can think of has already been used once or twice in the X-Men/Mutant/Marvel universe, so anyone who's read more than a few X-Men comic books would easily be able to spot such similarities. However, I'd have to say that the plot developement for the Heroes series really isn't greatly similar to the X-Men universe. Close I would come to such would be to say that it would seem more like a "What If" in similarities to X-Men. A different take, but nothing really similar to the X-Men Storyline. Just my opinion.
