Are you still using your cut and paste power here on mylot?

For the past months I have not used the cut and paste power here on mylot. I was alarmed on the last times coz those posts were dleted. I have tried experimenting on one discussion and the following dai it was deleted.
I have stopped cutting and pasting for that same reason. It was the same reason why I have stopped posting on mylot for a few days, it was not a good experience on my part.

Hi Zelly,
I hardly remember the times I have used that option. I have never used it to my knowledge. Except for the times when my internet gets very slow. That's been ages though. I used to have a very faulty connection and it was then when I wrote my post and then copied it, in fear that it might not get posted and I end uptyping the whole thing!

Good for you, I was able to enjoy it and came to the point of almost abusing it. I have learned my lesson well and never again will i use it here on mylot.

I have not used it the way I used it the time that I have reached the 500 posts. I got so excited and have tried the benefit of the cutting and pasting. Now, I will try not to use it anymore because some said that its no longer allowed here on mylot. Its good that I have decided to cut it.

I just went over the rules again I see no where it says you cant copy and paste just do copy any thing that is a copywrite
but like you I dont much any more and if I do I let every one know it was from an email or something like that and then I add to it or change words soit isnt an exact copy

I have used it on occasion, but not as a rule. I will use it when I am quoting information from anther site that is lengthy and can't be easily transcribed from that site to this one, but as I rule I try to write my posts myself because I believe that that is what this site is all about. I mean, when I post a question and someone answers me with previously used tripe from another post, I tend to get a little pissed off about it. I would much rather have something that pertained to what the topic of conversation was rather than something copied and pasted from someone else's topic.

I just used my copy paste power in amswering a discussion and its still there. but with this discussion that they might delete some discussions if you do it, then i think i have to be careful about it. Thanks for this discussion though.

I don't think I have ever done the cut and paste thing. There hasn't been anything I've been interested in discussing enough to do it. I'm sorry you got in trouble for doing it and don't understand it because so many people do!

Wow thats good that you have been giving original an authentic answers her eon mylot, I use my cut and paste to paste links and as well as songs and good inspirational thoughts from other people and I do try to qoute it if I dont for get.

Your number of posts indiacte that you still cant use it, wait till you reach the 500th then you can use it. I remind you to use it carefully coz if not it could affect your ratings and earnings as well.

I guess it would depend on what you are doing on here really. But I could see why they would delete a lot of the stuff, as they have no proof whether or not, it is something that you really Wrote, or something you might have copied from somewhere else. And is it a lot better for you yourself to know that you wrote it yourself here and not have to worry about someone here accusing you of anything different.

I am still using my cut and paste because I prefer to write in notepad and another application. I hope that they will still add another bonus for users with higher ratings. Like if you reach one thousand posts then they will add another good function for us. I think even if they will just give us 5 cents upon reaching every thousand posts will be a good reward already . It would somehow motivate us to do more and more posts. Just a suggestiont.

AH ok, I didnt know that 5 cents for a thousand posts. I will try doing it on note pad and then I will have to post that on mylot. I will try that option and thank for sharing this one.

Actually due to the loss of internet connection, some three weeks back, i started/typed some discussions and saved it in the Note pad, and i started to paste some thirty topics on the same day, when i got the internet connection back, the thing is i lost my reputation here in mylot to fall by one point (from 94 to 93)
So i desisted from doing any cut and copy work here, and i am working my way back to increase the reputation so that i may reach the 10 star rating very soon.

Yes, thats also what had happened to me. If I had not copied and pated on the internet somuch it would have been a perfect 10 rating and theres no one to blame but myself. Now I only have a reputation of nine instead of having a ten, and now I am finding it hard to get that reputation back. I have done so much to earn it and now it was goneand I dont know if I will be able to gain that back.

Wow, thats cool that you have forgotten the option that you can cut and paste. I have made use of that option before and I have earned much through using that option but now I am a bit woried and not confident about it anymore. I dont want mylot to ban for overdoing it and for abusing it. Its hard to get caught in those times. I dont want it to happen now, I have seen many of my friends being banned from here.
Its good to have a good reputation and I am also working on getting back the perfect ten rating and the blue star taht I had before here on mylot. t satrted when I had several posts deleted that my ratings also dropped and I hope to reach the perfect ten before the month ends, or if not before this year ends.

Hi Zelmarq! I have not tried it although I was hoping to use that kind of "power" before because it will make things easier and faster. However, a friend here in mylot advised me not to try it anymore because as you have said her discussions were deleted too, so to avoid such thing happening to me, I did avoid it. You are very much welcome my friend. You can only cut and paste discussions as soon as you reach the 500 posts mark. You will have to work and post more and more until you reach the 500 posts mark and surely you will enjoy it coz it could help you bloat and increase the number of your posts easily.
All I can say is be very careful in doing so, so that you will not experience what I have been through.It does not feel good to see your posts deleted and the number decrease day after just because of indiscriminate cpoying and pasting, just do it with caution, you are not the only one who will be affected with this problem but also those who will reply on your posts.
I hope you will reach your 500 posts mark soon, just work a little bit harder and surely you will hit the mark bull's eye.

I don't copy and paste on mylot. Even thjou I have that option. It is not worth getting my posts deleted. I do if it is something I have written myself and wish to post it on this site as well. Usally it is a question I have asked in an online yahoo group. That shares email.

I do not like cutting and pasting unless it is for a link. I am rather wary about copyright infringement if I copy some article and would rather refer the person to read it herself or himself. I suppose that the copyright infringement might be a reason for deleting a discussion, after all it it is better than myLot being sued for thousands of dollars along with the person who did the actual copying and pasting.
I suppose your writing an original article and pasting it would still be acceptable.

yes, now I a m now more careful than the usual cutting and pasting coz I have noticed that mylot is more and more strict when it coems to cutting and pasting and I have seen many of those posts deleted.
Theres no reason for me to do that since its will just be awatse of time and effort and those who will reply to those messages will also be deletd and they will be affected as well.

I have only used the copy and paste feature to quote a line or two that the original person said in their discussion so I can respond to that portion and they will know exactly what I responding to.
For example: "I have stopped cutting and pasting for that same reason." Here I have copied and pasted your personal words from your discussion and then I added the quote marks to indicate that someone other than myself said them or used them.
I use the copy/paste feature more for editing than for anything else. I do not use the feature to copy/paste large articles as it becomes confusing as to who said what.

Congratulations that you now have reached the 500 posts mark and now you will be enjoying it, my only advice to you is to be very careful in using it. I t has affected my ratings here, I used to have a 10 but now I only have a 9 and its because of this cutting and pasting feature. I have my other posts deleted and I just hope you wont be experiencing the same that I have gone through.

Hello there. I was very excited yesterday when I finally reached my 500 mark. This means I am able to cut and paste. However, after reaching the 500 mark, I realize I have not got the opportunity to cut and paste. When responding discussions, you usually type out your personal thoughts. I feel there's really nothing to cut and paste for me.

Wow, congratulations to you friend. I am really happy for you. I remeber the day I first reached 500 mark, I was really cutting and pasting everywhere and it bloated my posts very rapidly. I can see that you now reached almost 1000 posts and I can see that you are really enjoying this benefit. Just use it wisely and you will never go wrong and also earn what you deserve.
