I'm a new member of the Mylot. I like it , I want to discuss
with other here. English is not my frist language. I'm afrid that I can't express myself very well in english?
would you like to help. just tell me where is wrong ,including the grammer and the words.

It would be handy if you have a dictionary with you to check on the spelling of your words. As for grammars, I guess mylotters would be pleased to help you on that. I'm also trying to improve my English proficiency by participating in discussions.

Thanks for your compliment. My native language is Chinese and yes English is my first language followed by Chinese.

Hi Yeerdeng, have your heard of toastmasters international? I lack skill in oral communication especially English but I have a friend who invited me in this club. The purpose of the club is improving your oral communication skills and even leadership. All the members are required to speak at the meeting. They have different parts of the meeting where members and non-members participate. What is unique at the meeting was, you got be have an instant feedback. Other members will help you to check and tell you what are the areas you can improve in and what areas in your specific speech you excelled. I joined April 2006 and I am so amazed of my confidence in public speaking now. It has helped me and is continually helping me improve. There are clubs around the globe. You may search for club nearest you. Check out at www.toastmasters.org. I hope this one helps.

hi yeerdeng! im not good also in english since its not my first langauge. just practice it everyday, mylot can help you in it. since you are a member here in mylot try to response as often as you can to practice your english.ill be willing to help you if you need...have a nice day...

3ks, My first language is Mongolia , the second is Chinese,
English is my third language.
I knew a new friend from US when I played basketball. He can't speak in chinese, so me chat in enhlish. And I found it's not very hard to me to communicate. of couse we need some gesture sometime .
I get his email usaually and send email to him.
No I found it's not evry easy to express myself without gesture. I found it's more important to improve my speaking english.

The best way to improve english is by reading english newspapers, watching english movies, english news channels like cnn and bbc.
Thats how you can improve your oral english and you can see for yourself how these people use the words and the grammer as the speak.
I was also very poor in english few months back and now i have improved considerably by doing the above methods. English is a very nice language and i love it now.
