do you know the first impression you give to someone especially to strangers? or to people you barely know? what do you think is it? do you think they see you as snob? friendly? ever had an experience that someone directly told you their impression on you?

It's unfortunate that people judge others by their looks. I remember when I was new in a department, people thought I was "suplado" (snobbish). That's because I'm normally shy and quiet. I feel comfortable talking to people only after a mutual friend introduces us. Luckily, a friend who works there explained this to them and they eventually became my friends too.

yeah, i experience that too, i often get the impression of being a snob just because i am aloof and i am more comfortable working alone and silently.

They feel I am shy. Some feel that I am unsmart. In any case, I am like myself. I never bother. Because, I feel it is their formed ideas. I have no contributions in that.

i think people find me very helpful. i have never rudely with anybody be it a stranger or any one. From my face i may look a little snob but they notice my caring thing.

Most people actually think that i am a snob because they find me intimidating. i dunno.. maybe because i am tall and my eyes are a bit expressive but i believe that first impressions never last

Well, if they see me and don't talk to me it depends. Most times people think I'm some sort of freak for some reason. I could be in business causal or business attire and I still get some very awful looks. I don't even do anything to them nor do I look threatening. If its people who try to talk to me, most times people are kind and see me in the same light. I've had a few people say I'm the kindest person they've run into in quite awhile, so thats something.

people for some odd reason find me very approachable... they love to tell me their life stories and such... people who I have never met before!!! the funny thing is meeting strangers is very uncomfortable to me, I am quite shy and introverted. I don't know why they feel so connected to me. I guess I seem safe, I reckon that is a good thing.

People often have this first impression that I am unaproachable. I am also seen as intimidating. My students normally have this impression of me. But I am glad that most of these people who thought that I was unaproachable took time to get to know me more and later find out that they had the wrong impression of me.

I think I generally give the impression of a friendly, quirky sort of person - I think people get the idea that I am fun. I am all of the above =P I am usually smiling, and smile, wave or say hello to people that I pass, simply because I am that sort of person. I do think that people are sometimes a little wary of me, however, as I do have facial piercings, which most people see as being some rebellious act, that places me in the 'scary teen' category. I am actually a polite, intelligent, positive person, and I do think most people get this impression from me - I'd like to think my personality shines much more than my appearance.

I think most people see me as someone they can pour out all their troubles maybe because I am elderly and shy and white haired and try to smile most times. Some people have told me I seemed standoffish until they knew me then they saw I am actually rather shy. I am never seen as a snob that I know of and some have told me they think of their moms or a sympathetic family member when they meet me.
