I am tired of school shootings

I am tired of hearing about school shootings. About our kids not being in safe at the one place we send them each day. How do we know if they have made a kid mad that will shoot them. What if they are a victim of random bullets in school. I can't stand hearing about this violence. I can't stand the thought of my son going to school one day and I wonder if he is safe? Do we want our kids to go through metal detectors? How will they be safe? Here is where I anger everyone. How does he get this gun? Was it at home? Can he buy it on the internet? WE need to control who has and who can get guns. Our babys are dying!

It is terrible all the violence that is going on in the schools nowadays. Here we don't have any precautions, metal detectors or anything because we are in small town eastern Canada. The thoughts here are that it is a city or US problem and it doesn't happen here. Well a boy stabbed another student in my daughter's class in June and it didn't even make the local news paper. It is a global problem that needs to be address. We should feel save sending our children to school.

Stabbings are just as scary. Any child that can think about fatally harming another student or teacher, is scary. What happened to the days when you just had to worry about your child coming home with a bloody nose.

Hi, I totally agree with you. However the more attention we and everyone else give to stories like this, unfortunately the more they will happen. We need to focus on happier issues at our kids schools and get the media to sensationalise all the good things that are happening so that our kids will hopefully all be happier instead of self destructing.

I think this is one reason why alot of parents are homeschooling now. It's gotten so that kids are no longer safe in school. It used to be that it was unheard of for someone to open fire on a school let alone another student...now it seems to be becoming more and more common. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Oh nehrlas.. i support you.. yes.. we raise our kids and giving them the necessary education hoping that they will be a better person in their life near future..But if this shooting still take place.. i'm sure not only the parent are worried.. the students they them selfs will be worried too. And this will interrupt their concentration in their studies..

You are so right, some kids have real anxieties thinking about this stuff. They are supposed to sit in school and worry about a test tomorrow, not if the kid next to them hates them enough to shoot them tomorrow.
