Nobody can creat a folder anywhere in computer with the name "CON". At microsoft the whole team including Bill Gates couldn't answer why this happens. Also there are other names besides CON i.e PRN, AUX, NUL, COM0, COM1, COM2, COM3... and LP0,LP1,etc. Isn't it amazing? What do you think the reason behind it?

see , these words are internal commands (or part of internal commands) or name of ports which is reserve and exclusively used by os (operating system).... i will try to explain using the primitive os called DOS we have a command "copy con " where con stands for console prn is command for printer we can use command " type filname PRN " to print file so all these words are having special work and meaning (they are commands/keywords) thats why one can not create folder/file with these names ...

This is trange to many like me. It is an information we got through your the discussion you started. These words seem technical and containing commands of programing languages. I think, this may be the reason. However I would check them and will go to " ask.com" to get the answer, If I fail. You are also requested to do the same.

I guess, those letters are special and reserve words for Microsof OS system. If the system allows the folder name, then your system will not running effectively.
