Do you hide money from your spouse? Do you keep some tucked away "just in case"? I don't. I put money away but Hubby knows about it and we don't really keep things like that from each other. I do know other couples where one spouse is pretty much clueless as to what the other is doing financially. Hubby and I discuss all of our finances and pretty much know everything the other one is doing. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Everybody hides. Even in a couple not everything is 100% common. Everybody has his own needs and some private money for theese needs. And every spouse must be tolerant to it if he/she wants the same tolerance to his private money.

As I don't work I ask my wife for money. Sometimes I do keep it but not hide it to save for something I really want. Most times it's a trip to the casino. HAHAHA!! So I guess I do hide it sometimes in a way. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have this glass jar where I put all my pennies, and small change, and I suspect my husband knows about it. He also knows that I have two savings and one checking account separate from his. We have a join account, and that is from whence he pay the bills and household expense. My husband has some stock, it is quite a lot, and I have no idea how much, and I am sure he knows more about my RRSP then I do of his. He is expecting when I die, that he will get quite a bit of cash, but he will be disappointed as I do not have that much. I, on the other hand, will be sitting pretty. So we understand each other and besides with birthdays and Christmas coming up, if he took my money, then there will be no presents from me.

I hide money. I hide it plain sight. I hide in boxes, piggy banks, water jugs, envelopes and behind pictures on the walls. I am not hiding it from anyone in particular. I hide it to save it. I hide so when I have an emergency I can go around the house and gather it up to pull me through. Most of the money is coins that were the change after breaking a bigger bill. I just throw my change each day into something when I get home. After awhile, it adds up.

Hi twoey, My hubby and I don't keep anything from eachother including money. I have never hidden money and not told him about it. My hubby is a VERY impulsive shopper and he's the kind of person where money burns a hole in his pocket so he gives the money to me to hold onto. He knows I won't spend it on just anything and it's a good thing I'm not an impulsive shopper too or else we'd really be up the creek without a paddle. Have a good day! Your Friend, PurpleTeddyBear!

Boy it would be nice to have some extra money to put away and hide, but no, I don't. My spouse and I put all our money together and we decide what to do with anything extra. I do keep my internet earnings seperate, but he knows about them. I usually use them for fun nights out or vacations.

I like to have a little what I call emergencey money hidden away just in case something happens but it doesn't seem to stay there for long, I break into it instead of going to the bank, so I guess I am just not good at having cash money around...

I don't hide money away from my husband. We do save money in a jar that we have but we both know where it is. We usually use that money for vacations the next year.

I actually had to start hiding my money from my mother when she was alive...she had a really bad habit of taking my money I had set aside for groceries--I wouldn't have minded, but she never would pay me back for the money she took

Yup, I do...LOL! In fact he does not know that I have a monthly honorarium on my job..and I use it to purchase things in the house and for renovation, etc. Like just recently, I volunteered to shoulder some expenses for a change to glass windows, and my husband thinks I got the money from my salary; of course I have some savings stashed away. And then, tomorrow, we're going to Cebu for Renal Cyst Aspiration/therapy, and I am bringing those saved cash in case we'll be out of cash while in Cebu...My son promised to pay the doctor's fees, but it's also good to be ready with extra cash just in case unforeseen expenses come for my husband's minor medical procedure. This is the reason why I don't necessarily disclose my savings...he, he, he.

I don't exactly hide cash, but I do keep some "tucked away". There has been too many times when I didn't pay attention to the date and the bank was closed, or the paycheck came late, so I always have cash on hand in case I need it.

I tried once lol!!! but just couldnt do it without telling him. I am the one in the family that looks after the money and pays the bills, but we always talk about the bills that are being paid and what money is left over so that he knows where his money is going. It is his choice to give me his money every week but he also knows that he can go to my purse anytime he wants money. I tried once to put money away and not tell him so that I could suprise him when we would have a bad week. I couldnt do it. I felt so guilty that I told him 3 hours later. He wasnt annoyed with me for doing it he just laughed and said that I didnt need to tell him!!!!

I do all the bill paying in our house and I do put money away... but it's always for something we're saving for. For example, I'll let him know that by December, we'll have so much money put away so that we can buy such and such that we want. Or if we have a trip planned, I put money away each month to go towards that. But as far as hiding money? No, I don't do that.

I am not married, though I think that a sane relationship is based on mutual trust. This means, in my humble opinion, that partners should hide their money from each other.

I guess in a sense I do hide money from hubby, but he knows I do it. I know that everyone should have an ememrgency fund, and he doesn't understand that. So once a month, I take $100 out of the bank, and put it away. He knows I do it, but never asks about it, and doesn't remember that I do it.

My hubby honestly didn't remember that I had been doing this, until we had to make a down payment on a Chevy Tahoe. When he realized that making the downpayment put us in a crunch, I handed him some cash, and he is all like, where did you get this. I told him it was all the money i had pulled out of the bank. Of course, I didn't give him every penny, just enough to get him through till payday. But by next payday, he will forget that I take money out of the account for this fund.

if my partner knew about the money I stash away a little bit whenever we can, it wouldn't be there - it would have been spent, so I have to keep it secret!

OMG...You have one too? If my hubby has money in his pocket for longer than a day, I feel like I need to get a band to play! He is the world's worst with money in his pocket. In the beginning of our relationship I used to joke with him that I check his pockets for burn marks or holes when doing his laundry. :-)
