I love having fajita chicken on my salads....but I recently purchased the fajita seasoning and thought it was very nasty. It even made my house stink. So instead of that seasoning I used seasoned salt and lots of pepper...it was as good as some I have tasted in a restaurant. Do you like fajita chicken? Have you tried making it a different way then using the boughten seasoning?

I first marinade the chicken in lime juice and a little olive oil. Then I season it with cayenne pepper, black pepper, crushed red pepper, cumin, and a little sea salt before cooking it.

I am curious which name-brand or generic fajita seasoning mix you purchased because of the horrible smell it left behind and that it tasted awful BUT more importantly to let you know there is a much easier way to dry marinade your chicken pieces before either deep frying or baking the strips in the oven. Grind dried jalaepanos, crushed red pepper, cayennes (dried cayenne peppers), paprika and cumin (tasty mexican herb), red chiles and green chiles dried, and lastly mild red peppers dried. After all these dred ground and sifted together ingredients are perfect for you, coat your chicken pieces with a egg-wash consisting of egg yolk no white and a bit of water and then coat them with the dry ingredients. Fry or bake on cookie sheet or shallow baking pan as necessary. I love chicken or shrimp fajitas! So much fun to eat. And yes, I've had the same experience as you. Perhaps we bought the same brand?
